Marco Ngai Chun Kit and Joyce Tang Lai Ming dated for 9 years before finally splitting up. Many newspapers in mainland China received notice from readers that Marco was already dating a new girlfriend, who was a college student from Chungking. She even referred to Marco as her "hubby!"

Currently filming in Shanghai, Marco expressed helplessness over [criticism of] his break-up with Joyce. "I was always a faithful boyfriend. We dated for 9 years. However you can not control the course of a relationship. No one really understands what it was like for Joyce and I to be together, thus please don't blame me!"
