Louis Koo Tin Lok Louis Koo Gains 30 Pounds for New Movie

To promote new movie "Eavesdropping Situation" 《竊聽風雲》(directed by Alan Mak), Louis Koo Tin Lok, Daniel Wu Yiu Cho and Sean Lau Ching Wan appeared as guests on the Mainland talk show 《背後的故事》. The trio discussed the ups and downs of their careers and Daniel Wu revealed that he was extremely nervous when he filmed opposite Shu Qi early in his career.

When he was still a novice actor, Daniel had the opportunity to film opposite Shu Qi, who was already a popular artist at the time. Daniel felt very nervous and sweated in each scene opposite his co-star. Shu Qi was very friendly towards Daniel and often chatted with him, leading him into their scenes together. She assisted him and the pair became very good friends. If they were to film together again, Daniel will not be nervous.

Tavia Yeung Yi Raymond, Kenneth, Tavia & Bernice in ‘Romance and Case Discussions’

Raymond Lam Fung, Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming, Tavia Yeung Yi and Bernice Liu Bik Yee were at the costume fitting for TVB’s new series, "Romance and Case Discussions" 《談情說案》yesterday. In the series, Raymond will play a physicist and assist police officer, Kenneth, in solving criminal cases.

The theme for “Romance and Case Discussions” appear to resemble Japanese drama "Detective Galileo,"《神探伽俐略》. Was Raymond concerned that he will be accused of copying the Japanese drama? Raymond noted that “Romance and Case Discussions” will be set amidst a mystery, case-solving backdrop, while focusing on love relationships. To prevent the audience’s inability in following the cases, scientific explanations will often be used to validate the outcomes. This strategy will be different than “Detective Galileo.” To avoid further comparison to Fukuyama Masaharu’s performance in "Detective Galileo," Raymond will avoid watching the Japanese drama. Raymond indicated he will need to prepare in advance for his role, as the scientific jargon will be even more difficult to relay than legal jargon.

After giving birth, Kelly followed the Chinese tradition of washing her hair and bathing with ginger water. Kelly said, "Every time I hold Chace, I love to smell him. He has a fragrant baby smell!"

Sammul Chan Kin Fung Sammul Chan- A Fan of Gui Lunmei

Although Sammul Chan Kin Fung has acted as a Master of Ceremonies on numerous occasions throughout his career, it should not be a great source of pressure for him to host an event. Several days ago, Sammul acted as the MC for an event celebrating women’s success in Shanghai. Since the presentation was entirely in Mandarin and English, which were not Sammul’s native languages, he was very nervous. Fortunately, he maintained a fine standard. Hosting solely in Mandarin and English, this was a major breakthrough for Sammul.

Felix Wong Yat Wah Felix Wong May Film New TVB Series with Michael Miu

Michael Miu Kiu Wai, Eddie Cheung Siu Fai, Felix Wong Yat Wah, Yu Kam Yuan, and Cheng Dak See attended the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals’ bowling competition kick-off ceremony several days ago.

Michael indicated that he will be taking summer vacation with his family, although the location was still undecided. Michael’s wife, Jamie Chik Mei Chun recently lost significant weight while endorsing a slimming company.

Did Michael prefer the chubby or skinny Jamie? Michael said he did not mind either way. Jamie’s chubbiness was cute in a way, while being skinny had its good aspects too. However at their age, Michael believed that there should not be such a drastic weight loss. Although he did not mind Jamie being fat or thin, being overweight lent to more ‘clumsiness.’ Being healthy was the most important issue. Did Michael join Jamie’s weight loss program? Michael indicated there was no need to since he normally loses weight while filming a series, due to lack of sleep.

Felix Wong Yat Wah appeared in a recent episode of Stephen Chan’s “Be My Guest” last week. Stephen joked that Felix and Michael were terrible singers. Although Michael has never heard Stephen sing in the past, he joked, “I sing better than Stephen! He is an eloquent man, but that does not guarantee he has a good singing voice.”

Michael noted that he had his own individual singing style, which Stephen may not appreciate. Michael admitted that Jamie often dominated the microphone when they sing karaoke. Jamie’s singing skills were quite good.

Kelly Chen Wai Lam Kelly Chen Gave Birth to 6 lb Baby Boy
Congratulations to Kelly Chen Wai Lam, who gave birth to a 6 pound baby boy on July 10th! Coincidentally, the baby shares the same birthday as Jacky Cheung Hok Yau. Kelly hopes that her son will be as successful as Jacky. When Kelly heard her son’s first cry, she found the sound very sweet and touching. Kelly’s husband, Alex found the baby’s voice to be very masculine and magnetic.

The night before, Kelly entered Hong Kong Island’s Canossa Hospital. Alex stayed in the delivery room with Kelly, taping and taking photos. Kelly and Alex were very happy to see meet their son, who resembles both his father and mother. The baby was born a bit earlier than the expected date and a name has not been chosen yet.

At 2:25 PM, Kelly’s assistant, Leo, arrived at the hospital. He prepared water, herbal tea and oolong tea as refreshments for the reporters at the scene. Since Kelly and Alex’s parents were aware of the presence of numerous reporters, they did not go to the hospital to visit. The doctor selected the date to induce labor although the baby was not born premature. Kelly and Alex did not select a particular time to have the C-Section operation performed. Leo said that the baby’s birth hour can not be disclosed.

Ada Choi Siu Fun Retired HK Film Actress, Joey Wong, Became a Buddhist Nun
It has been reported that retired Hong Kong film actress, Joey Wong Cho Yin shaved her head and became a nun at a Canadian Buddhist temple in June 2009. Joey soared to immense popularity in Hong Kong and Taiwan after starring in "A Chinese Ghost Story"《倩女幽魂》opposite Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing. Allegedly, Joey’s action may have been triggered by her ex-boyfriend, Chyi Chi’s earlier wedding news.

When the press contacted Chyi Chin last night, he was incredulous. He immediately reached out to Joey’s family. "I knew of Joey’s strong belief in Buddhism, but not to the extent that she will become a nun. The only person who has been in close contact with Joey would be her mother. I called her uncle in Anhui, who contacted Joey’s mother. Even Joey’s mother is uncertain whether Joey in fact chose a a Buddhist path.”

Chyi Chin spoke about his break-up with Joey. "At that time, Joey did not want to move to Taipei. She preferred a quieter location and took the initiative to leave. Since we have known each other for so long, we are good friends. Although I am very concerned about her, we have not been in touch for several years. Perhaps, her career in Canada did not produce ideal results or she was hurt from another relationship. I do not believe that our break-up had a direct impact on her decision to become a nun.”
