Dayo Wong’s Stand-Up Comedy Show Premieres to Packed Audience
Dayo Wong Chi Wah is currently holding a stand-up comedy show at the Hong Kong . He is performing for eight nights. The first show was a full house and the atmosphere was very lively! For an entire two and half hours, Dayo did not take a break or change his clothes.
In his show, Dayo found humor about recent events in the entertainment circle. Dayo said that he was a self-acknowledged “box office poison.” In the past, he wrote, directed, and starred in Fighting to Survive <一蚊雞保鏢>, which was a disaster. Last year, Dayo lost forty pounds to portray the last Chinese emperor, Pu Yi. Unfortunately, the ratings results were a fiasco, leading Dayo to suffer from depression. Dayo also joked about an actress refusing to kiss him due to religious grounds. Yet, she agreed to share an onscreen kiss with Simon Yam Tat Wah instead!
Many celebrities attended Dayo’s stand-up comedy performance last night. Francis Ng Chun Yu, Sean Lau Ching Wan and wife, Amy Kwok Hoi Ming, Carol Dodo Cheng Yu Ling, Patrick Tang, and Monica Chan Fat Yung were in attendance.

Jayne: Will you pay to see Dayo Wong’s show?
I liked Dayo in You’re Hired! I wish he has more TVB series. I’ve never seen his stand up comedy but heard “alright” comments about them.
On a side note, I think it’s cute to see both Sean Lau Ching Wan and his wife, Amy Kwok Hoi Ming, going to events together.
I will if I have the chance. His brand of comedy fits my taste buds 🙂
I would love to! i watched an interview with him and big 4 (edmond, dicky, william, andy) and he talked a lot about his struggles. he still connects very well with his roots and that’s pretty amazing.
Pu yi? When? Where?
I wouldn’t mind going either if he were to come to the States. He is pretty funny and his sense of humor seems to come naturally and effortless on his part. He does look super skinny in that pic. He needs to put some weight back on and I think he will look better.
@ Funn,
It’s a Mainland series. The title is ‘非常公民’ (Fei Chang Gong Min). Quite an old series. Made in 2001.
Here’s the poster.

Dayo is coming to Malaysia again, next year if I’m not mistaken.
Sean Lau and Amy Kwok supported his shows regularly, I can see them (almost) in every Dayo’s stand up comedy dvd.
Thanks Kidd! He looks the part! But i suppose people are sick of stories about Pu Yi?
I wonder is the date confirmed as to when Dayo is coming? If it is affordable show I am tempted to go and watch!
I like Dayo’s brand of standup comedy. I have not seen it many where else and I mean in the western world. He melds a lot of social issues as themes, only half of which are particular to HK, most others apply to everyone.
I’ve only been to one of his shows a long time ago, but have watched all the rest.
He looks awfully thin. Lost a bit of weight…
He does stand out in the crowd. His personality is quite unique. I like his TVB series.
To Funn, it’s confirmed. A friend of mine know that I like Dayo and mentioned his show in Genting to me (but I was too lazy to check :P)

He lost a lot of weight, the poor guy. 8(
Sehseh, is it sold out? It was sold since October?! I didn’t know, at all.
question … who did dayo use to date that was in the entertainment industry?
thanks.
I guess I’m in the minority but…WHAT IS UP with that outfit??? Is that really necessary for a stand up routine? lol..
