Francis Ng Flares Up During “Triumph in the Skies 2” Filming
Two days ago, Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) and Fala Chen (陳法拉) were filming at Soho in Central, Hong Kong for TVB new drama, Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II>. Renowned for his quick temper, Francis allegedly flared up a few times during the filming session. Even Fala got a taste of Francis’ fiery temper!
In order to be on time for the filming, Francis reportedly reached Central an hour ahead of the designated time. However, the exact location was likely not communicated to him properly, and he ended up driving in circles for an hour to seek the exact filming location. Arriving in a 7-seater car with his assistant, Francis reportedly lashed out at the production assistant the minute he stormed out from his car. “I drove in circles for a long time! Do not tell me we are going back to the previous location to film,” said Francis in an agitated tone.
The filming attracted many bystanders to watch and took pictures of the actors. Dressed in a suit under the hot weather, Francis was sweating profusely. In addition, the flash lights from the bystanders caused Francis and Fala to have outtakes in their scenes many times. Appearing to be very irritated by the onlookers, Francis allegedly shouted out, “Do not flash anymore!” The filming then proceeded smoothly after that.
Even Fala was not spared by Francis, in which Francis allegedly chided Fala for not taking good care of her leg. Dressed in a rocker style, Fala was in an all-black outfit with nails painted black and wearing tangling accessories. During filming, Fala said to Francis, “I purposely wear a skirt; it’s not pretty?”
Francis replied impatiently, “Precisely it’s because you are wearing a skirt, and you do not take good care of your thigh. It looks like you have just knelt on some glass; it’s so black and bruised!” Fala reportedly took no offense at Francis’ remark and even reacted by showing a victory sign at Francis. This then helped to liven up the atmosphere!

haha really fell off the chair in horror when i saw fala’s hand gestures- looks like a failed attempt at being anti establishment. gosh nono fala being madam jo was wayy cooler.
Fala looked hideous in the pic as rocker/punk. Her face expression was ridiculous! Arrggghhh….I’m disliking this drama more and more each day!
my god, i hope fala doesn’t make that face in the series. she looks awful, and her getup makes her look like a witch.

No offense to anyone but I think Francis Ng is way over-rated. I didn’t like him as Sam and thought he was way too old for Myolie. Now he’s paired with Fala? She’s even younger than Myolie.
I really don’t like this about HK. Actors can pair with actresses that are 20 years younger but an actress is considered old after 35 years old.
I don’t think Francis is overrated, but I’m annoyed by the double standard in the industry. I also think the age difference of 20 years is ridiculous, and it would never happen with an older woman/younger man pair.
However, from the filming videos, I don’t notice the age gap that much. I guess, I’ll just wait and see how it turns out.
Me too – always like Joe Ma in the 1st series – unfortunately, his character got killed 1/2 way through. I lost interest watching after Joe died.
Agree he is way overrated, however compared to your average TVB artist he might be considered “king of acting” LOL

Agree that Francis Ng is way over-rated. I never thought highly of his acting though he had got a Best Actor Award.
He is too old to pair up with either Myolie Wu or Fala Chen unless it is a 忘年戀. If that is the case, any 75-year old man can marry a 18-year girl.
I don’t think he is overrated, but I can understand how some might not like him.
Have seen him in only 2 tv series (Old time buddy, a favourite of mine, and the orig. triumph in the skies) and I liked him in both. He is also great in films.
At least he can actually act though, and not just rely on looks to gain favour…unlike certain male and female stars on tv. It just goes to show how bad many current leads are. Instead of promoting more talented but less popular 2nd line actors, we ar5e stuck with the same faces!

nah, don’t think he’s over rated too, i thought his acting is brilliant, whenever i watch triumph in the skies, I often forget entirely that Sam is actually being played by an actor. that shows what a good actor he is 🙂

but i reckon francis ng is not over-rated, he’s good in fact if you watch his movies eg heroic duo, u would notice his villainous roles were amazing like u would be surprise to know that it was actually the same person who played sam in TITS
It’s not just in Hong Kong. It’s like that in Hollywood too.
And I find Francis Ng a brilliant actor. He excels in both dramas and comedies.
I really anticipate this series but Fala Chen isn’t suitable as a rocker/punk. It’s a bit weird. o.O
I really think Fala Chen is gonna spoil this series for all.. From the photos, I don;t like her already..
And her pairing up with Francis, I don;t see any problem because, if she were to remove all the rocker-wannabe outfit, she does look old -__-“
