Linda Chung and Bosco Wong to Film “Police Dog Brothers”
Charles Chan (陳國強) made an array of changes since stepping in as the new Chairman after Norman Leung’s (梁乃鵬) retirement in January. Chan plans to make TVB as an international hub for Asian entertainment. Besides aggressively acquiring assets, TVB also began investing in the movie industry under Charles’ leadership.
Another major change was the airing of TVB’s dramas. Starting in April, series aired in the 9:30 p.m. time slot will be aired seven days a week, allowing viewers to follow their favorite series every day.
The station is also grooming a new generation of stars as older, more established artistes leave. Earlier, TVB executive Catherine Tsang (曾勵珍) announced that TVB will be heavily promoting Grace Chan (陳凱琳), as well as many newcomers in the upcoming year. After landing her first lead role in Captain of Destiny <張保仔>, Grace has been filming Blue Veins <僵> alongside Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎). She will film Brother’s Keeper 2 <巨輪Ⅱ> next.
Linda Chung and Ruco Chan to Guest Star
While Edwin Siu (蕭正楠) and Kristal Tin (田蕊妮) will return in Brother’s Keeper 2, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) and Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) will only be guest starring in the drama due to their busy schedules.
In new drama Police Dog Brothers <警犬巴打>, Linda will be starring opposite Bosco Wong (黃宗澤). This marks their second collaboration after their popular pairing in 2012’s Witness Insecurity <護花危情>.

That’s a funny pic of Linda isn’t it?!
Woo-hoo can’t wait Bosco is back so excited to watch him pair with Linda again!!!
@kailan1019
Bosco seems to be filming only one TVB series per year though. I sense it is a matter of time before he leaves TVB as well, or perhaps sign only a per series contract to free up his schedule for other ventures.
I know it’s hard to admit but it still good seeing him and as for brother keeper if they taking out Ruco and Linda on brothers keeper II Ima gonna pass I’d already saw the clip of the series not interested tbh..
@jayne: He lost the role in a Chinese series so he has free time for TVB.
@alluka He is not free at all. His current series may not finish to late June, at the earliest, if not delayed.
@jayne
I suddenly can’t post any comments under my snowfire and had to reg another one. Can you check why? I like the new feature since you can avoid spam and trolls but I hope the condition not too tight.
@alluka
He didn’t lose any role. He’s currently filming drama《奶爸当家》in Suzhuo until around June. This drama was supposed to film last year but for some teason it was postponed and he was free to act with Joe Chen. Yeah he was the first actor contacted for the drama with Hawick/ Zheng Shuang starting in Apr to be the second male lead – a scholar but he rejected it. He hasn’t filmed anything for TVB for more than a year so it’s about time to come back.
@snowfire2
It may be a caching problem which we will try to fix. We will disable the caching feature for now. Let me know if you have problems posting again. Also if you be more specific about the problem that would help us too.
@snowfire2: I dont really think it is the matter of about time to come back. As a fan of Zheng Shuang, I checked the information about that series from the beginning and it was said that Bosco is replaced by Sunny Wang for an unrevealed reason. Actually I would prefer if he join that series than filming something for TVB.
@alluka He never considered that role. 奶爸當家 has been on his agenda since mid 2014. He was supposed to start filming after Lasting Affection (愛讓我們在一起) but the film was postponed.
@geliguolu Ok, maybe I read the wrong source. It was a pity because the novel is nice.
@alluka
From what I gathered the schedule of that Zheng Shuang drama clashed with《奶爸当家》- one start end of March, one in April, not with that Boda drama which will start in June. Other than that he never confirmed that Zheng Shuang drama, one production member also clarified once that only Hawick and Zheng Shuang have confirmed while Bosco was only contacted for the role.
I personally haven’t read the novel nor familiar with the characters, but many friends said that although it has better chance to ‘fire'(get popular), they already feel he will push down the role because it’s another intelligent/calm ‘the other man’ role similar to his part in the drama with Joe Chen. Many thought that he will pick the light hearted《奶爸当家》. Have you read the novel? Was it good?
@snowfire2 “Many thought that he will pick the light hearted《奶爸当家》” …. actually, it’s just that he prefers modern drama over ancient costume, and definitely over shaving his head, hehe
@snowfire2: I think the novel is good, especially the second male lead character which is assigning to Sunny Wang now. It is a complicated character, semi-villain with layers.
Linda Chung looks quite pretty in the above photo. As a matter of fact, I get tired of her image with long hair, and it is good to have a change. It is always good for artistes to have many different looks for different roles.
Glad to see them collaborate together again really loved their chemistry in WP
Hope Linda can tackle a different role this time 🙂 Add oil Linda!
I wonder what Ruco is filming that he is so busy? I only know of one. Or is that completed? Vacation time? Movie time? Should never had made a sequel to that disastrous series. #RucoSoHotChan
@funnlim: So I read an excerpt of Ruco’s interview with TVB magazine where he reveals quite a bit more about his cameo role in Brother’s Keeper 2. After reading what he said, I have a feeling Ruco fans will be pissed.
Remember last time Ruco had mentioned during the EITS promo event that Edwin’s character will experience what he experienced in the original series? Well, he said the same thing in this interview, but here’s something else that came out too: He said: “Sam will return with his ‘first bucket of gold’. His little brother (Edwin) will no longer hold on to his earlier insistence on everything being black or white (right or wrong) and will end up doing something wrong. Sam will be by his side to support him, even sacrificing himself to save him in the hopes that his ‘pure’ little brother won’t go down his old path.”
The part that sticks out of course is the “Sam sacrificing himself” part — not sure if that means he will die or go to jail or something drastic will happen. Basically, it’s up for interpretation at this point. One thing is for sure though — Ruco said he won’t have too much screen time.
@llwy12 Yes I am spewing blood, not because of his role or size of it but because of all the series, this gets the sequel treatment.
The plot if true, and most probably is is rubbish. Will this be another series where Ruco dies? Guess what? In BK, young brother never sacrificed himself for big bro so please don’t show now big bro sacrifice for younger bro. And at what age will Edwin go money crazy and ruthless or should I just ignore the fact BK ending has them nearing or is 50s? #RucoSoHotChan
I’ll be skipping all the episodes that are Ruco-less. LOL.
Brother’s Keeper is not the same without Ruco or the Ruco-Linda pairing. I’m not a fan of Linda but I love this PanDa pairing. They look so compatible on and off screen. It’s a pity that Linda is taken…else they will make a lovely and sweet couple.
Hi Funn you are Malaysian if I’m not mistaken, which place is better for a weekend trip from KL city to escape the blazing heat? Genting or Cameron Highlands?
Depends. Generally I find Genting colder but one time Cameron Highlands was raining and it was like typhoon for me and it was so cold my teeth was like… well you know how it was like but best time for 6-6.
@funnlim: Knowing TVB and their lack of creativity, it’s quite possible that their way of writing Ruco out of the script is to kill him off (though of course it’s anyone’s guess at this point). Hey, just thought of something….maybe that’s how they do Linda’s cameo – Rachel returns for Sam’s funeral (wild guess on my part so don’t hold me to it). And I agree about the “sacrifice” part – little brother never sacrificed for big brother in the first one so why should big brother sacrifice for little brother? But that’s the TVB way I guess.
As for why BK of all series gets sequel treatment – well, probably tied in to some endorsement / sponsorship deal. When they first announced plans for a sequel, I was kind of surprised too, because plot-wise, there really wasn’t too much worth writing about, especially if it’s going to be same characters / same story (which it apparently is). And yes, TVB will want us to ignore the fact that the characters were already in their 50s at the end of the series…after all, their main audience pool are supposed to be ignorant housewives, remember?
@funnlim: what is Ruco filming? He hasn’t filmed anything after Captain of Destiny. In 1 of the interviews, he did say that he was supposed to film a drama in Taiwan but due to clash of schedule, the offer was turned down. I hope he is going to film movies. His talent is too big and wasted on the small screen.
Love Boda pair. So glad that they film a new drama together. Wish Ruco joins in the cast. Triangle love between these three may generate good chemistry.
“This marks their second collaboration after their popular pairing in 2012’s Witness Insecurity .”
The writer forgot ‘Gem of Life’.
Yes Bosco is back ! I mean he havent left TVB yet, but good to hear that he is filming for TVB. Hopefully after his contract end he will sign per serie for TVB.
I do miss Bosco speaking Cantonese. Hope this is a good series, not another Madam Avenger by Miss Pang (scriptwriter)
