Myolie Wu and Wayne Lai Prepare to Film “Rosy Business 3”
The 2013 Hong Kong International Film and Market (FILMART) trade show opened on Monday, March 18 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. TVB was in attendance and brought over 30 of their top artists including Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) to attract public interest. TVB even organized a press conference at its booth to make noise for its nine upcoming drama series, stealing the spotlight from rival stations ATV and HKTV.
Myolie Wu and Wayne Lai appeared at the exhibit to promote their new drama, Rosy Business 3 <巾幗梟雄 之 諜血長天>. The 30-episode period drama will set during the Sino-Japanese War and will star Myolie as a spy and Wayne as twin characters who were separated in their youth.
Myolie revealed that she will have passionate love scenes, using her beauty and sex appeal to complete her spy missions. “I will kiss many people [in this drama]. I will probably kiss everyone except Sire Ma (馬賽)!” When asked if her current single status gives her more freedom to participate in these intense love scenes, Myolie replied that she is simply following the script and that these scenes are necessary for the espionage story. Myolie was worried that she lacks the womanly appeal of a female spy and said that she will watch Lust, Caution <色,戒> as reference.
Wayne Lai is also working hard to prepare for the epic drama. The TV King will have several scenes showing off his physique, including one at a hot spring. Wayne had been exercising to keep fit and had lost six pounds so far. He hopes to tone his body line and present his best to viewers.
Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) was also at the show yesterday to promote his three upcoming dramas, Brother’s Keeper <巨輪>, Unrequited Love in Two Cities <單戀雙城>, and Love Exceeds the Coastline <情越海岸線>. Appearing in recently broadcast series, No Good Either Way <衝呀！瘦薪兵團> and Reality Check <心路GPS>, Ruco was worried that viewers are tired of seeing him all the time. He sees each role as a new challenge and hopes to deliver a fresh performance each time. Ruco felt very lucky to have filmed five dramas in a row, and was grateful to TVB for his opportunities.
Other TVB artists that appeared at the event included Moses Chan (陳豪), Michael Miu (苗僑偉), and Eddie Cheung (張兆輝).

@gordon how can you be sick of it when the last one came out in 2010…
I’d rather they not label it as a Rosy Buisness No.[insert how many numbers here]. The original and the 2nd one- ok fair enough. But when they come up with a 3rd, a predicted perhaps a 4th…then comes the 5th and 6th…Dont get me wrong, I think Rosy Buisness 1 and 2 were excellent acting performances, but the storylines were generally quite depressing / dramatic (esp. Part 2). I could imagine if they were to call for a part 3, it’d run along a similar dramatic storyline direction…it’s a great thing that the actors can spar off their acting talents,but so far the promotions for part 3 are delivering a similar vibe to part 2.
looking forward for this and myolie’s role looks like a breakthrough!
Yeah I wasn’t a huge fan of the first 2 RB series in the first place, I think that franchise appeal more to the older audiences.
Well if you mean older audiences that prefer some sort of solid storyline that doesn’t have to be crass or highly sexualized or pressing the buttons. Then I guess your right. It will appeal to older audiences.
I’m sort of tired of it only because Sheren isn’t in this one. You can’t call it RB3 beause she’s not in it.
I don’t agree that the franchise appeal more to the older audience. A lot of my friends and I love Rosy Business and No Regrets and we are on our early 20’s. Like, picklehead, we are not too happy that Sheren is not in the third installment.

myolie on the other hand looks great! love her makeup. Also love her cool boyish looks and makeup in triumph2.
sire looks too short here and imo the dress don’t make her look that good.

Brother’s Keeper actually looks really good, really want to see it! Also Triumph 2 and the Love Coastline seems okay. Everything else looks bad.

I don’t really like Myolie being the one to replace Sheren. It just doesn’t work for me. However I do not agree that Sheren being replaced is going to ruin the show. It gets boring seeing Wayne and Sheren play a complex couple all the time. I’d rather they be siblings or something if they ever work again.

put it this way, myolie’s role is a female spy who uses sex and beauty for her spy work. sheren isn’t suitable for this role. besides myolie and wayne are fresh pairing.

I can’t wait to see Myolie in bed with men, I hope they do something exotic. I want Nyolie to be a seductress/temptress who tempts men into her bed and kills them in bed, and I hope they will be creative with her tactics too…having sex with men then tying their hands to the bedposts and cutting their throats while they are tied up…having sex so violently with old men with high blood pressure that they have heart attacks and die…keeping a gun beneath her garments and taking it out while under the bedsteads and shooting them from under the bedsteads where they can’t see…biting men’s necks while having sex with them and killing them instantly, like a vampire…

Why are they doing another one set in the same period? Anyone who knows their history should know that the Sino Japanese War (second one) spanned the same period that was covered in RBII. Unless they plan to do the First Sino-Jap war during the Qing dynasty (and they can’t be from the photos)it will be hard for them to differentiate the two. They should change the cast completely and call it something else. Ending the series with Wayne and Sheren going out on a great series II would have been best. 3 is gonna struggle to meet expectations.

Good point. I myself am tired of all these Sino Japanese propaganda dramas but these dramas are well liked by actors because the complex characters give them space to stretch and belt out their acting to get attention.
King Kong is in RB3? I’m going to have to watch it now 😛
