Zanilia Zhao’s “Princess Agents” Premieres June 5

Zanilia Zhao Liying (赵丽颖) may hit a new peak with her upcoming television period drama Princess Agents <楚乔传>, which is confirmed to premiere on Hunan TV on June 5.

The 68-episode series, produced by Ciwen Entertainment and Croton Media, stars Zanilia as the title character Chu Qiao, a slave girl from Western Wei, who escapes her masters after being saved by Yan Xun, the prince of Northern Wei. There, she befriends the young master Yuwen Yue, whose family is involved in a bloody power struggle. Clever and determined, Chu Qiao helps Yuwen Yue abolish slavery and become one of the greatest military strategist of their time.

Also starring with Zanilia is Lin Gengxin (林更新), who plays the resourceful Yuwen Yue, and Shawn Dou (窦骁), playing the vengeful Yan Xun. Also starring is Li Qin (李沁), Deng Lun (邓伦), Jin Tujie (金士杰), Wang Yanlin (王彦霖), Niu Junfeng (牛骏峰), Maggie Huang (黄梦莹), Tian Xiaojie (田小洁), and Sun Ning (孙宁).

Princess Agents, which is based on the novel Agent Queen of 11 <11处特工皇妃>, spent 158 days in principal photography. Following a team of special agents in ancient China, Princess Agents is an action-packed series, equipped with fast combat and countless of practical effects.
