Eric Suen and Macy Chan Tie the Knot!

After eight long years, 44-year-old Eric Suen (孫耀威) and 36-year-old Macy Chan (陳美詩) finally tied the knot this past Saturday. Their marriage was witnessed by a pastor and hundreds of family and friends. Macy’s bridesmaids included Pancy Chan (陳佩思), Grace Wong (王君馨), Leanne Li (李亞男), and May Kwong (鄺文珣).

The longtime couple held their wedding ceremony at the humble Union Church, a grade three historic building in Hong Kong. The wedding started at approximately four in the afternoon. Eric sang “Deeper in Love” by Don Moen as Macy walked down the aisle.

Eric said, “I am no longer one person. It’s now Macy plus Eric. M plus E. It is a new ‘ME’, and the new me equates to the both of us. So we can’t be separated anymore, because if we do, I will not be complete.”

Macy replied, “Although our personalities are quite different, we help complete each other in different ways. I am not perfect, but I am thankful to have someone who is near-perfect like you.”

Eric said afterwards, “I was rebellious then. I didn’t know what to do. I made more enemies than friends, but today, I am standing in front of you all, taking the next step in my life. I want to tell my family to not worry about me, because now there is one more person taking care of me, one more person to scold me. Don’t worry!” Macy was in tears at the end of his speech.

After exchanging vows and lighting candles, a little mishap happened. The new bride and groom got so excited that they ran down the alter, and forgot to kiss each other. The pastor had to pull them back to complete the ceremony. As they waited for group photos with family and friends, Eric kissed Macy again, on the cheek.

During their meeting with the press, Eric and Macy happily complied when reporters told them to kiss each other five times. Pointing out that Macy was wearing jewelry up to $5 million HKD, Eric said, “Our rings are marked with each other’s names, reminding me that I can’t mess up. I have a wife now! I’m never going to take this off, not even when I’m showering!”

Asking if they’ve decided on the number of kids they want, Eric joked, “I don’t really care. I think she’s pretty fertile!”

What are they going to do on their wedding night? Eric said with a laugh, “We’ve booked a super big suite at the hotel. We’re going to take a bath together. Our bed is larger than Wei Xiaobao’s. I’m going to imagine seven Macy’s!”

The couple plan to hold another ceremony at a larger venue sometime soon.
