Yammie Lam Update: Handwritten Letter About Karma Revealed
Yammie Lam’s (藍潔瑛) past and present private life is now back in the media spotlight due to recent rape allegations made against Yammie’s former collaborator, Eric Tsang (曾志偉). Though Eric has denied all allegations, and has even issued legal action, Yammie’s private life remained in the public for scrutiny, and many of her “iron fans” are pleading the media to stop spreading rumors and gossip so the retired actress can live the rest of her life in peace.
The 54-year-old was once regarded as one of TVB’s most popular actresses in the 80’s, and she was on track of transitioning to a successful film career. However, a traumatic rape experience while filming 1991’s The Tigers <五虎將之決裂> in Singapore pushed Yammie to a downward spiral, and she succumbed to mental illness.
Yammie has since retired from an acting career and is living on her own with the support of loyal fans who helped with housing arrangements. Many of Yammie’s fans have actually been consistently updating the public on Yammie’s current whereabouts, reassuring other fans that Yammie is safe and doing well. A while ago, a fan shared a picture of Yammie that was taken this past Christmas, and it was claimed that the photo was taken while Yammie was at church with a friend.
Because of Yammie’s current mental state, the truth of what happened that night in Singapore would probably never be revealed to the public. However, a glimpse inside Yammie’s mind was revealed in a handwritten letter, which Eastweek managed to gain access to. In the handwritten letter, signed by Yammie, she wrote, “The good are rewarded with good, and the evil are rewarded with evil. If the reward does not come, then it is not time yet.”

Agree that everyone needs to leave her alone and give her own life some privacy. If she wants and able to come out, then support her. If she is stable now, let her be. This is one of those: the king is not rush but the eunuchs are.
@jjwong true! I guess she only wants peace for the rest of her life. I feel pity for her, such a great actress with unique beauty.

I agree and hope that the media allows her to live the rest of her life well. She has already suffered a lot so at least allow her to live the rest of her life in peace and quiet. If she is ready to come out to get some justice then I am sure everyone will support her.
When these allegations become public especially with the likes of entertainment media outlets (paparazzi), public scrutiny spikes. It’s unfortunate that she has to go through a lot.
Let her get the proper legal support and counselling to handle matters in court in private. Seriously.
It seems like she is looking healthier than the previous gaunt photos, so thats something positive at least.
I’m sure she’s going to be more prettier if she wears makeup and dress up in a nice way but too bad her life it’s just a mess. Feel sorry for her.
I kinda believe her story that she was raped by industry dai-los. Otherwise why would she suddenly become mentally unstable. She was an up-and-coming actress in the 80s but well known to be a diva.
@passingby
Besides that she has lived a tragic life as well. She lost both her parents back to back, 2 boyfriends committing suicide, being kicked by that thick skinned Taiwanese actress, etc.., so many tragedies in addition to these rapes. I feel so sad for her. Glad that she seems to be doing a bit better these days.
“support of loyal fans who helped with housing arrangements.”
She has good fans.
When she first did the interview where she mentioned the 2 dai los without actually names being revealed, no one thought Eric would be involved. People actually started asking Eric Tsang to help her because he was regarded as dai lo… That was such a tragic irony.
Anyone got a timeline of the whole event being unfolded? Some news outlets must have done that for their readers.
