Han Geng Reveals Relationship with Celina Jade on 34th Birthday
It’s about time! On February 9, Chinese actor and singer Han Geng (韓庚) announced on social media that he is dating Hong Kong actress Celina Jade (盧靖姍), who is best known for starring in the Chinese blockbuster Wolf Warrior 2 <戰狼2>.
The former Super Junior member announced the dating news on his 34th birthday. “Hello, 34 years old,” he wrote on Weibo. “Hello, my girl.” Celina, who will be turning 33 in June, replied to the post with a similar message, “Hello, my boy.”
Their dating news was unexpected and a surprise, as Han Geng and Celina have never collaborated in a film or TV show before. Han Geng made his debut in 2005 as the only Chinese member of the K-pop group Super Junior, where he was also known for being the first foreign artist in K-pop. He left the band in 2009. Celina Jade made her debut in 2000 as a singer, and had a second debut in 2008 as an actress in Hong Kong films. She crossed over to Hollywood in 2013, with a supporting appearance in the superhero television series Arrow.
Reportedly, Han Geng and Celina first met earlier last year at the Golden Rooster Awards, where they presented Best Music. Celina also mentioned Han Geng on her Weibo, calling him “a gentleman.” She also said, “I didn’t get the chance to say bye bye to him. I’m happy to get the chance to know you…” Han Geng replied, “It’s my honor!”
Celina’s Background
Celina was born in Hong Kong, to an American father Roy Horan, a kung fu actor, and a Hong Kong mother, Christina. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, Celina briefly lived in New Jersey when she was 14 years old. Celina moved back to Hong Kong a year later, as the cultural difference intimidated her.
When she was 15 years old, Celina scored a record deal with Japanese producer Tetsuya Komuro (小室哲哉) after winning a singing competition, and released two EPs. Her singing career was short-lived however, as her parents wanted her to go back to school.
After obtaining her undergraduate degree at London School of Economics and Political Science, Celina returned to the entertainment industry as an actress, and starred in Hong Kong films such as Legendary Assassin <狼牙>. From 2013 to 2017, she starred in the American superhero television series Arrow. In 2016, she starred in China’s record-breaking Wolf Warrior 2, becoming a breakout actress.

She’s one of those mixers who look more Caucasian than Asian. It must be weird to look more “White,” but more familiar with Asian culture. Not a disadvantage, of course, quite the opposite.
@coralie I agree. She does look more white than asian but i can definitely see the asian in her thou. But at least this one, I am not sure if she speaks Chinese but at least she speaks English well. haha… I saw a clip of her only as I was watching that Wu Jing movie and he casted her while she was still on the show Arrow so I can hear her speaking English. Just like Tiffany Hsu the taiwanese actress, she also looks very mixed to me but when white people talk to her she practically can not communicate much in English even she looks more white than Asian.
@wm2017 strange but I saw her interview in English. She speaks perfectly fine to me as a mixed with an American dad.
@wm2017 oh yes she speaks both Cantonese & Mandarin equally well and of course English as her dad is an American.
I’ve known Celina for over 10 years now and we’d always correspond as I translate her blogs into Chinese. And yes, she does speak, read and write Chinese. She does it impeccably as a matter of fact. She could’ve easily rewrite her blogs word for word in Chinese. But I can tell you guys straight up, her blogs used to be fricking long.

Wow, good to know. When I saw that clip of her being casted in the Wu Jing movie I thought she looks refreshingly interesting. It’s great that she can speak but can write too? Wow!! I always find it more fitting that if you are mixed, it would be great that you speak both languages at least if either race ask you for basic information you are able to understand them.
@wm2017 she speaks all 3 equally well. Mandarin, Cantonese & English. I am impressed. But don’t quite see the compatibility with HG.
