Eddie Peng Denies Dating Summer Xu

Eddie Peng (彭于晏) was rumored to be dating 49-year-old actress Summer Xu (許晴) after working together on Hidden Man <邪不壓正>. The 36-year-old actor finally denied the relationship during a promotional event for the movie.

Even with Summer absent at the showing, questions about being photographed with the actress surrounded Eddie – who then quickly denied dating his co-star. “Not possible – those are promotional pictures only, and they shouldn’t be taken seriously. [Is it because of the age problem?] No, it’s not that – we’re just great friends, and those photos were taken professionally. [Do you need to take age into consideration when choosing a wife?] I don’t know – it’s about feeling!”

Despite the endless questions, Eddie remained in good spirits and even admitted to wanting to look for a girlfriend. When asked if he wanted to date, he said he has always wanted to, but the most important thing is having the right mutual connection.

Excited to be in Hong Kong again, Eddie is thrilled that he gets to take part in local productions each year. Having made great friends there, Eddie specifically called out rising star Carlos Chan (陳家樂), who showed support for the movie. Having previously worked together in To the Fore <破風>, Eddie praised Carlos’ good looks and great work ethics, and hopes to work with him again in the future.

Eddie may be in good spirits, but fans noticed that the actor looked rather thin and tired. Admitting that he had very minimal rest, Eddie revealed, “I’m currently filming a series, and I just landed in Hong Kong at 4 a.m. in the morning so I didn’t really get a chance to sleep.”
