Wu Xiubo’s Affairs Included an Underaged Girl
Following a published rant on WeChat by Mainland Chinese actress Ruby Chen (陈昱霖), who confessed to having a 7-year affair with Wu Xiubo (吴秀波), more reports of the famous actor’s scandalous affairs have now resurfaced, striking a blow on the 50 year old’s image.
A netizen dug up an old blind item written by famous gossip reporter Zhuo Wei (卓伟), who is now retired. In the article, Zhuo Wei revealed that a famous actor “Xu Litao” (which netizens have now decoded to mean Wu Xiubo) had a promiscuous dating past, in which his victims included an underaged girl. Zhuo Wei claimed that the women he dated become younger and younger through the years. The youngest girl he dated was 30 years his junior. At the time the report was published, Zhuo Wei named only three victims.
The first victim, nicknamed “Tang Xiaoling” (Underaged Tang) was the youngest of the three. The second victim was nicknamed “Song Huijing,” who had collaborated with Wu in a modern television drama. Song already had a boyfriend when she met Wu, and was allegedly sexually assaulted by Wu when he was drunk. The third victim was nicknamed “Chen Xiaoying,” who had starred in a popular time-travel television drama. Chen was over 20 years younger than Wu, and was also underaged when she met him. Wu had allegedly lured her into his hotel room with the pretense of acting rehearsals, and raped her. This incident nearly caused Chen to retire from the entertainment industry.
With all of this information in mind, netizens have managed to come up with a few guesses on the true identities of the three victims. “Chen Xiaoying” may have been the teen actress from the 2013 television drama Case of the Zhao Family Orphan <赵氏孤儿案>, which starred Wu. However, the child actress did not retire from the industry as claimed in Zhuo Wei’s post.

If this is true then this pedophile needs to be in jail, like Bill Cosby. I say put him in jail. Cut the willy wally off and throw him in jail.
There is tender age and there is underage. Tender age could be 22, 25. If this slug is having sex with women under the age of 18, then he needs to be in jail. I dont think anyone here will object to that. I am not the site police but let us keep it peaceful.
@kmfayb I don’t object to that, but unfortunately, the age of consent in China is 14 so unless the girl was younger than that (or it was non-consensual), the chances of Wu going to jail are slim.
Even with Cosby, look how long it took them to put him behind bars – he had openly admitted for decades to drugging women and having sex with them (even boasted about it as part of his comic routine), it was pretty much an open secret, yet most people (industry folks especially) turned a blind eye to it. The “standards” have always been enforced differently for celebrities, though with the MeToo movement nowadays, women’s voices are finally being heard, which is definitely a good thing (though probably won’t have much effect in China due to the mindset over there).
@llwy12 14 years old! well, that certainly breaks the myth that chinese are conservative and puritanical!
@msxie0714 Yup, that’s what I was thinking too…actually, in general, Asian nations are perceived as being more conservative or whatnot towards sex while the West (namely the U.S.) is portrayed as being blasé and too open and such about sex, yet the age of consent in many of the Asian nations is way lower (compared to in the U.S., where in general it’s 18 but some states have it as low as 16). A few examples — age of consent in Philippines is 12 and in Japan, it’s 13, Cambodia is 15, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore is 16, and the list goes on….oh and in most of the Middle East (which geographically is considered “Asia”), there is no legal age of consent at all, only the rule that the person must be married (which unfortunately makes it a free-for-all of sorts because of the trend over there of parents marrying off their children when they are only 9 or 10 years old)…
@llwy12
The mindset isn’t much different from that of the US until recent years. For a proclaimed progressive and modern country, it’s shocking that it took so damn long until women were taken seriously and not blamed and shamed in rape cases.
@msxie0714 That’s true….though it’s still different in China in that people don’t have the freedom to speak up for one, and two, it’s easier for the local police force as well as the government to tamp things down. I read a few articles about all the recent cases of sexual assault that came to light at China’s universities and many of the women who tried to take their cases to the police were told that they should drop their cases because there’s no chance that they are going to win (the police don’t even bother going through the motions of investigating or whatnot) – not only that, the police would often threaten the women that they will get countersued by those accusing them (not for defamation, but that the women were “leading the men on”) or they will make up a charge of disrupting the peace or something ridiculous like that to force the women to let the cases go. This is why I say there is less chance of something like MeToo gaining traction in a place like China, where almost everything is government-owned / affiliated (universities, police force, even TV stations), so they have more of an interest in stamping out controversies and dissension as much as possible so as not to cause them embarrassment or trouble.
Though with all that said…yes it can be argued that U.S. is technically no different now due to Trump being president but at the end of the day, as citizens we are still able to make our voices heard and there is better chance that the perpetrators will get their day of reckoning (as the recent Cosby case and the proceedings against that Judge Kavanaugh prove).
I wonder if ppl will come defend him with a “tender age is no excuse” and “those girls should’ve known better.”
If allegations are true, this individual is trash. And I had no idea Cosby was in jail…
@iampheng haha how fast they jump to conclusions and subsequently change tunes.
Seems like China’s got its own Weinstein case
Riiiight. Because they are two different tunes. In here, it’s about underage and non-consensual relations. Over there, it’s about his wives and mistresses who are adults and consensually sleep with him, so distinguish that. Haha.
If the same Zhao Wei, he does not have a good reputation too. Is dating underage a crime in China? How old was the kid?
@mangotango Age of consent in China is shockingly 14 years old (and I thought Hong Kong had a too-young age of consent at 16 years old…guess China takes the cake on this one)….so technically, if the girl was older than 14, then it wouldn’t have been illegal if they’d had a consensual relationship (of course, if Wu had forced himself on her against her will, then that’s a different story). Regardless of the legalities though, it’s still disgusting for him to be preying on a young girl like that (assuming he was probably at least 20 to 30 years her senior at the time, maybe even more). The fact that he admitted to having multiple affairs (regardless of whether the “sex with an underage girl” allegations are true or not) and expressed absolutely no remorse for doing so (reference his outrageous “won’t take initiative, won’t refuse, won’t be responsible” response) already makes him a douchebag in my book. Hope he gets his comeuppance soon!
It’s no surprise. Promiscuous people don’t care as long as they get their high and release. If this is true, he should face the consequences of physically hurting teenagers young enough to be his children.
suprise of the century, old pervert hooked up w/ an underage girl. it’s like a thing w/ men, somehow the older they get, they fantasize about young girls. yuck!
