Nicholas Tse Was Filmed Changing His Clothes on Camera

Currently filming in Mainland China for the second season of Chef Nic <鋒味>, Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒) was secretly filmed changing his clothes on camera. A video was illegally obtained and shared on the Internet.

Filming at a local restaurant in Shunde, China, Nicholas invited his father, Patrick Tse (謝賢), and Liza Wang (汪明荃) to be special guests in one of the episodes. While the filming went smoothly during the first half, Nicholas went to change his shirt during his free time and didn’t realize that he was being filmed on CCTV. In the video, it was seen that Nicholas’ assistant was there helping him hold his t-shirt, and Nicholas’ love tattoo with Faye Wong (王菲) from back in 2000 was clearly visible.

As it turns out, the video source came from a security guard who was watching the CCTV at that time for any suspicious activity. At first, the security guard didn’t realize that the person changing on camera was Nicholas, and thought he was regular personnel. When the security guard recognized the actor, he quickly took out his phone and filmed the video to send to his wife – who then sent the clip to all her friends to show off.

When the video was released, Nicholas’ company, EEG, acted upon this invasion of privacy immediately and called the police. After locating the couple responsible, the police quickly arrested them.

The owners of the restaurant have apologized to Nicholas and his crew for the inconvenience the security guard and his wife caused. Nicholas’ manager, Mani Fok (霍汶希), responded “This came to me as a huge shock. Good thing Nicholas was only changing his shirt and he wasn’t completely bare or else this would’ve been a bigger issue. The owners of the restaurant have apologized and we’ve accepted this apology. We won’t be legally pursuing further action because they are regular people with families to support – we don’t want to ruin them. Even though we know that it was an individual act, it’s important to know that the consequences of taking photos without consent are serious. We’ll need to be more careful in the future. I’ve already spoken about how if this was a female artiste, the outcome would’ve been dire.”
