Yang Mi’s Latest TV Drama to Star Deng Lun
Ever since landing the lead role in 2012’s hit show Palace <宫锁心玉>, Yang Mi (杨幂) has been pushing out hit after hit. Known as the industry’s lucky star, nearly every single male actor that Yang Mi has collaborated with has hit new levels of popularity after working with her, including Palace’s William Feng (冯绍峰), Swords of Legend’s <古剑奇谭> Li Yifeng (李易峰), The Interpreter’s <亲爱的翻译官> Huang Xuan (黄轩), Eternal Love’s <三生三世十里桃花> Mark Chao (趙又廷), and Legend of Fuyao’s <扶摇> Ethan Juan (阮經天). Next year, Yang Mi will grace TV screens again with the release of her new TV drama The Great Craftsman <巨匠>, this time co-starring Wallace Huo (霍建華).
According to official sources, Yang Mi will soon begin work on a new television drama Once a Youth <曾少年>, in which she plays a Beijing-born millennial who has big dreams of starting a career as a blogger. She passed on a relationship when she was still studying in college, and it wasn’t until after experiencing a big earthquake when she realizes that he loved her too. The source did not reveal the male lead, but rumors say Yang Mi and her reps have been courting 26-year-old Deng Lun (邓伦), best known for starring in Ashes of Love <香蜜沉沉烬如霜> and the Chinese variety show Where Are We Going, Dad? <爸爸去哪儿第五季>
Deng Lun made his debut when he was 18 years old, for the 2013 television drama Flowers in Fog <花非花雾非雾>. He shot to fame after starring in the 2016 drama Because of You <因为遇见你>, and made a special appearance in the 2017 hit drama Princess Agents <楚乔传>. He has just completed filming the drama My True Friend <我的真朋友> with Angelababy and Zhu Yilong (朱一龙), and has begun work on the new drama Come On, You’re the Best <加油,你是最棒的> with Golden Horse film queen Ma Sichun (马思纯).

Deng Lun looks very young for Yang Mi…She’s not too old looking yet but still more mature.
He’s already so famous by now, he doesn’t need Yang Mi to pull him to bigger heights.
@davy Agree! Unless the storyline having an older woman falling for a younger man it might work. But they don’t suit each from their looks. But maybe once they are acting my mind could be changed. I do want to see with Yang Mi with older experience actors compare with the hmm idol actors
@shishi I like her to act with older actors too but in TMOPB, it didn’t look too weird between her and Zhang BinBin who is way younger than her. I do want to see her and DL together somehow.
Sorry to be offensive but Yangmi is really a cougar in recent years…. not classy.
@hohliu
It’s a refreshing turnaround from the older 40,50 year old actors as love interests for 20 year old actresses.
@hohliu
How can she be classified as “cougar” ? Of the costars mentioned in the post, nearly all of them are older than Yang Mi (William Feng, Huang Xuan, Mark Chao, Ethan Ruan, Wallace Huo). The only one younger than her is Li Yifeng, who is only 1 year younger so she can hardly be called a “cougar”.
Other post-80s actresses are paired up all the time with younger actors (including post-90s ones) and I don’t see any problem with that either.
@hohliu how is 32 a cougar? lol
I <3 deng lun, but I don't know if he has the manly gravitas to handle starring next to yang mi. mark chao did so well only because mark chao has a manly aura, but deng lun has a youthful feel to him. when he's next to younger looking female actresses, nothing's amiss. but not sure that works for yang mi.
And she’s back again smfh. This chick doesn’t know when to take break, go call your daughter or spend some time with her we know you don’t love ur husband but she’s ur blood kid. Soon we’ll get tired of your Botox face. Fight cougar
@gunit101
At least you can’t accuse Yang Mi of being lazy. It is not easy for a female to get to this status of fame and power in China without the drive and ambition. It is impossible to give up because she will feel a life without purpose once younger or prettier actresses succeed her…
Sadly its true but she’ll regret that later in life she find another husband but her mother daughter relationship that’s gone.
