Darren Wang and Jelly Lin’s “Fall in Love at First Kiss” Releases First Teaser

The film version of Taiwan’s 2005 hit idol drama It Started with a Kiss <惡作劇之吻> is ready to make its big debut on Valentine’s Day 2019. A 15-second teaser has dropped, giving fans a first sneak peek of the romantic comedy.

Directed by Chen Yu-shan (陳玉珊), who created the 2015 box office success Our Times <我們的少女時代>, Fall in Love at First Kiss stars Darren Wang (王大陸) as Jiang Zhishu and Jelly Lin (林允) as Yuan Xiangqin. The roles were respectively played by Joe Cheng (鄭元暢) and Ariel Lin (林依晨) in the 2005 television drama.

It Started with a Kiss is actually based on the Japanese manga series Itazura na Kiss, also known as Playful Kiss, debuting in 1996. The manga has been adapted several times since its inception—a 1996 Japanese television drama, the 2005 Taiwanese television drama starring Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin, a 2009 Korean television drama, and a 2013 Japanese remake. In 2015, Thailand adapted it into a television series, followed by another Taiwanese remake, released in 2016.
