Pre-Debut Video of Rocket Girls 101’s Yang Chaoyue Getting Harassed Resurfaces
A pre-debut video featuring Rocket Girls 101 (火箭少女101) member Yang Chaoyue (杨超越) being harassed by a male host has resurfaced, becoming a trending topic on Chinese social media.
The 20-year-old idol singer, who debuted with Rocket Girls 101 last year after winning third place on the survival girl group show Produce 101 <创造101>, looked extremely uncomfortable and awkward as the male host continued to verbally harass her with sexual comments.
The video was shot prior to Yang Chaoyue’s participation in Produce 101, which aired a year ago. At the time, Yang Chaoyue was a member of the little-known girl group CH2. An influencer invited her to shoot a short video clip, but during their filming, the male host repeatedly harassed her with sexual questions and comments.
“Why are you looking down here?” he asked her. The male host then turned to look at the camera. “I just told her that I had a strong libido, and then she looked…”
Yang Chaoyue looked noticeably uncomfortable. She turned her gaze up and tried to change the topic quickly. “No, it’s because I’m too tall,” she said.
The male host was persistent. He looked at her with narrow eye and said, “It’s true. I’m really, really big. I’m not lying.” Looking speechless, Yang Chaoyue tried to change the topic again. “Yes. You have a big head.” The male host then said, “That’s right. My [expletive] head is really big.”
