Celebrities leaving their home with a full face of makeup is now a thing of the past. Thanks to the invention of filters, it’s become much easier and acceptable to share personal selfies on social media, and with the growing trend of embracing no makeup, many celebrities are now becoming more and more comfortable to share their bare faces with fans on Instagram.

Stephy looks like a complete different person.. IMO Koni and Myolie looks quite the same w/ or without makeup
Fala Chen looks the cutest.
Ali Lee has always look plain; a girl next door.
Leanne Li looks like she is from Thailand…if you know what I mean.
The older ones start to look their age once the makeup is removed…
I wouldn’t notice Sammi in the streets. Looks a different person without makeup…

Yes. However, it would be difficult for some women to have patience to spend an hour a 2 everyday to put makeup on before going out. Some won’t even have the knowledge of how to get the best out of the makeup or what suits them best. Celebrities are experts at this and there they get plenty of tips from real qualified makeup artists…

@mike I don’t think it is an either or situation. Not putting on make up is not being lazy. An ugly person is ugly on the inside out and no amount of make up hides that.

Although it might not be all true, it is to encourage women to try and look better I guess.
@megamiaow Yeah you are right, it just basically mean that you need to put in effort to look pretty, and this is not only restricted to making-up, but also means spend time eating right, exercising etc to maintain a trim figure etc.
@megamiaow Lol, ah, I see. It’s a bit outdated saying, I think. I think it is silly to encourage anyone to try to look better. It always seems to be the people who can improve themselves first that tell others to do this or that.
Are they wearing no make up….. or have they just gone for the natural look? Which takes a lot of make up to produce!
most of them still looks the same….however i some on them still have makeup on just lighter not so intense
No makeup but max filtered.
@anon thats exactly what I said. Every single one of them has max filter, except Shu Qi. You can see all of her sun spots and tiny moles, but she still looks good and looks younger.
I don’t know about anyone else, but unless Tavia has a function/event or is filming, she actually goes out in public w/o make-up very often. And she posts pictures of her with no make-up without fanfare.
Eliza and Priscilla are still very pretty. So is Paisley and Ali
I think a lot of them look younger without makeup. Lighting helps. But it is still deceptive if we are apply lots of filters.
I don’t believe “all the artistes with no makeup” listed above totally had no make up on their face. Most of them just used light or very casual makeup. I do admit a few of them did not have makeup on, but they looked very different, almost unrecognizable, like Sammi Cheng, Shu Qi, Stephy Tang, Ali Lee; and some didn’t look quite the same, such as Mayanne Mak, Selena Li, Priscilla Wong, Kay Tse.
The only one with a NON FILTERED photo is Shu Qi. You can see all her sun spots, but she’s still pretty and looks even younger. Everyone else applied a beauty filter.
Everyone else looks the same without makeup accept Ella, Elaine and Sammi. I find Sammi eyebrows have shaved it off without the makeup?
@cutie777 It was am unfortunate trend in the 90s for some to shave or pluck it all off in order to achive the narrow arch that was in at the time. Unfortunately eyebrow hairs dont grow back as much as rest of body so it becomes permanent.
I only appreciate the true no make up ones, not the ones where they have obviously gone with filters or bare makeup.
Alot here’s eyebrows are obviously still filled in.
I dont get it, if you are going to show someone your true self makeup-less then do it properly.
I think we have to analyse each pic one by one to make a fair assessment of who looks the most pretty naturally. Some have obviously cheated here possibly using light make up, powder, cream, light etr. What stands out are the eyes of the celebrities. Some have horrible looking eyes which without using makeup to hide this, they just like the typical citizen. Goes to show that beauty of celebs are overrated….
All of them look better without makeup omfg their makeup is so bad. They should get better makeup artists
