Benjamin Yuen Wants a Gun While He Travels With Mat Yeung in Colombia
Having made their mark in India, Africa, and Italy, Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪) and Mat Yeung (楊明) are about to take on Colombia for the third season of All Work No Pay Holiday <打工捱世界III>. The pair will be in South America filming the program for 18 days, so they’ve both made preparations. On one hand, Mat brought an abundance of food for their time in the tropical rainforest while Ben took along an empty container for the coffee beans he hopes to purchase over there. Meanwhile, their girlfriends have both reminded them to be careful.
Benjamin revealed his girlfriend, Bowie Cheung (張寶兒), is scared of him stepping on a land mine and jokingly asked if she meant the explosive kind or a pile of feces. “The director’s style is to abuse the artists by going to original places, and we like to be tortured. I heard that the most offensive criminals are no longer there, and the ones who got out of jail already turned over a new leaf,” Benjamin said. “We will go to a mine three hours from the city. Hopefully, we have a gun on hand so it’ll be safer. I just want something on hand, but actually even a bullet proof vest is useless in this case.”
For the show, the pair will work as miners to collect emeralds, as well as be a football commentator, sell ice cream, and headhunters in a modeling agency. Mat smiled and said Lisa Chong (莊思明), his girlfriend, told him not to be too naughty and go off running around with Ben. Ben chimed in, “The last time we went to India and went running, we saw a lot of men holding hands staring at us. We were afraid they were interested in us.”
Perhaps the duo will take things slow as Benjamin recently had a high fever after taking vaccinations and Mat also expressed he wanted to vomit after taking the malaria drugs.

But is he willing to shoot? A gun is a huge responsibility. If the place is that dangerous, maybe don’t go?
good luck, it’s a dangerous place. don’t get drunk, otherwise may end up like chapman to in the black comedy movie. they probably got the idea from columbia
How dangerous can it be when you are 2 incredibly muscular and fit men and traveling with a film crew? Lol.
Also, men need to stop thinking everyone is interested in them. Just because someone is gay does not mean they want to sexually harass another man. Unless Ben is projecting his feelings on how he acts when he sees an attractive woman, these homophobic comments are not funny.
@potatochip
it depends on where you are in the world. some places are extremely sketchy even for locals where pretty much every single person has experienced some form of violent crime. one really questions why people esp. expatriates choose to make it home. filming attracts attention and most of the time, the crew maybe a few people. given how cheap tvb is, they probably don’t sent that big of a crew overseas.
@m0m0 I agree that there are a lot of sketchy places. But I would think the producers would have done some research or scoping of filming locations first. I think about people like Anthony Bordain or even Zimmerman who go to all corners of the world and didn’t expressed this type of fear.
Traveling by themselves and traveling as part of a show is very different. I think they are just drumming up publicity for this show.
@potatochip …women think everyone (men, women, gay, les, bi, etc) is interested in them at least 80%, if not 99%, of the time. So why not men think other men are into them? It’s human nature to believe we’re “desired.”
@jjwong I dont think all women think everyone is interested on them?! Why?
If you said “an attractive person” would think 80%, 99% of people is attracted to them then yeah. Saying its women who generally think that is completely baffling.
As a woman I can confirm that no, I dont think anything walking on 2 legs would always be interested in me.
@jjwong Huh? As a woman, I have never automatically assumed another person is interested in me. I haven’t come across that socially or even seen it in the media. I have never heard women joke that because someone is a lesbian, they need to watch out personally.
I think you are confusing the very real danger of women being at risk for sexual harassment and assault with thinking people are interested in them. That type of interest is not about desirability, but about domination.
@potatochip “Also, men need to stop thinking everyone is interested in them. Just because someone is gay does not mean they want to sexually harass another man.”
Agree. People tend to forget that gay people have specific standards/preferences, as well. Just because someone is gay doesn’t mean they’re going to crush on every man who breathes in their direction. So ridiculous.
