Kenneth Ma and Nancy Wu: “We Are Ex-Lovers!”
Despite numerous romantic rumors in the past, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and Nancy Wu (胡定欣) have never publicly admitted their relationship. In an effort to clarify rumors that Nancy possessed a “princess attitude” and dumped Kenneth due to her monetary greed, Kenneth revealed that the pair were once ex-lovers and the reason for their break up!
Often internalizing his personal matters, Kenneth rarely discussed his love life. In a recent radio interview, Kenneth revealed that he and Nancy had dated after performing in Strictly Come Dancing <舞動奇跡> in 2010. Noting that they broke up due to personality differences, Kenneth stated, “We are not too compatible in our personalities.” (She is too aggressive?) “I am a person who is satisfied with the status quo. Perhaps the timing was off. We broke up peacefully and are still friends right now. I am admitting this relationship because I want to clarify that Nancy does not possess a ‘princess attitude.’ I did not dump her! She is a very good girl. We continue to meet for dinner; it will not be surprising if you chance upon us meeting [in the future] because we are still a rumored couple! Ha ha! (Will you reconcile with each other?) “I do not know what will happen in the future!” (Despite you clarifying Nancy’s reputation, she said she was upset at you!) “Then I will not talk about it next time!”
Not Awkward In Seeing Each Other
Rumored “ex-lovers” Kenneth and Nancy appeared one after the other at the TVB makeup studio. Asked about her past relationship with Kenneth, she laughed, “Since he brought up the subject, let him discuss it!” (Do you feel awkward when you see each other?) “No, we are friends.” (You dated for one year?) “Your questions are too sudden! Personal matters will be dealt with privately; I am the type of person who wishes to reveal [a relationship] publicly when it is time for marriage!”
Asked whether Kenneth had withheld their dating secret for a long time before revealing their relationship, Nancy said, “Ha ha…I suspect that he is using me for publicity! His new drama, The Hippocratic Crush <On Call 36 小時>, received very high ratings!” (Are you upset?) “Yes! He’s using me for promotion!”

Jayne: Finally Kenneth admits that he had dated Nancy. There are possibilities as to why he suddenly admitted that he dated Nancy:
1) “Our relationship was in the past” so that everyone knows there is nothing between Kenneth and Nancy, so that he or she can freely date other people without them misunderstanding their availability
2) Mislead the public to think that Kenneth and Nancy have split up. Tell the truth about the past, but lie about the present? Continue to say that they are friends and go out on friendly meals, while in fact date in public.
Which is the more probable possibility?

I’d like to think that they are both honest people or as honest as they can be in the entertainment industry so I pick number 1. Maybe they are currently interested in other people and want to make that person feel at ease.
I wish Nancy is given better roles, she’s good!
Anyway I think they’ll look good together….lol….
Seems rather friendly with each with friendly banter. I think he revealed the truth so that
1. everyone still stop asking about it
2. stop speculations
3. stop character assassination of Nancy
4. they’re on friendly grounds, maybe casual dating again so maybe the revelation is to facilitate for a possible reconciliation without too much press hounding them
So yes I do believe they’ll get back together.
In short Jayne, no. 2 is the reason.

I agree w/ u. I think Kenneth admitted it so that media would stop attacking Nancy. This is what Moses should’ve done for bernice but sigh…
Anyway, I’m glad to know that ken is not such a dud afterall. He must have skills to get Nancy in the first place.
And his protection of Nancy shows he still cares so maybe they will get back together.

Vivien, may not be the case re: Moses & Bernice. Something tells me their breakup was ugly and or did not end in good terms. Obviously Kenneth and Nancy ended on good terms – it is not easy for a relationship to end on such friendly terms.
I don’t think so. Reporters will obviously run after Nancy more after this to know how they hide, what stage did they reach before the breakup and reason why. And also about third party. Next time will have something like this.
Moses and Bernice is a different matter. Bernice wanted Moses to do but Moses refused and let ppl say watever about Bernice, he didn’t care.

Anyway, I hope Kenneth won’t be Selena just because she goes clubbing and was caught snuggling and kissing with some guy. Kenneth seems to be a down to earth and a very low profile actor, doesn’t seem to hang out late at those clubs..
I’d like to add that I don’t mean to say that ppl who goes clubbing are bad, its just that I find Kenneth doesn’t like this sort of thing and he’s suitable to be with some really nice girl..

It is great that Kenneth finally admitted it since IF they did date in the past, it is the past now… I don’t see what they have to lose by him revealing it. Who knows what can happen in the future, they may or may not get back together…. Anything is possible..
What I mean is kenneth may like her but I am wondering is he HER type? Doesn’t look like it if reports of his boring-ness is true.
And by the way I so agree about Kenneth being you know, great catch. Somehow I just know he is decent. That is until he is proven not decent. Was watching doctor show and my sister said to me “Look at him, pouting and that puppy dog look. How can anyone stay angry with him?” and I dare say, indeed! Indeed! That is why he can;t be a villain. Like Felix can’t be a villain. Like Steven Ma can’t be a villain. Except Kenneth is the only one I feel like rubbing his cheeks (face cheeks by the way) and pinch him everytime he has evil thoughts as a villain.

And he is one of the few HK actor which I feel looks tall, since he is well proportioned. Or everybody else is short.
When Kenneth wore that mustache with his bristling eyebrows trying to be villain in Life of Sentinel, I was laughing like crazy.

And Felix can be villain! like in Gun Metal Grey, he had that crazy villain look. Steven can be villain too, that 斯文败类 type.
I also think that Felix can be a good villian since he played a bad guy many times and did a good job. He is a very versatile actor.

I think Kenneth Ma and Selena Li (if the rumor is true) will be good for each other, in terms of personalities and qualifications. Kenneth is not an aggressive person, so is Selena. Moreover, both of them had their university education in Canada (Kenneth in Vancouver and Selena is Toronto). They are well-matched.
Somehow, I have the same feelings as you sandcherry. I also feel that Selena is a better match for Kenneth but that is not for us to decide. It is for them to decide…Wish them the best and hope that they will share their good news when the time is right..
I’m with you both sandcherry and HTS. Selina and Kenneth seem like the same type of people with similar goals. She is like a big child and very friendly and well liked, and Kenneth is very down to earth.
In terms of acting, I like Nancy Wu’s more. In terms of appearance and personality, I think Selena is better and will be a better partner for Kenneth Ma.

It is kinda difficult to pick, but maybe Kenneth revealed his past relationship because of the number 1 possibility that you mentioned. Also, it’s a little bit for publicity of his airing drama “36 hours on call.”

Ma Ming is humble by nature. He won’t implicate his own best friend or ex for his personal promotion. Enough already that some Nancy’s fans don’t thank him but scolded him for this.
