Eason Chan Cancels All 25 Shows of Upcoming Concert
All 25 shows of Eason Chan’s (陳奕迅) Fear and Dreams Hong Kong Concert has been canceled.
The concert was originally scheduled to be held at the Hong Kong Coliseum from December 9, 2019 to January 7, 2019, with nearly 200,000 tickets already sold.
It was planned to be a New Year’s concert for Eason and his fans in Hong Kong.
The cancellation was announced on Thursday by the concert’s promoter, ESL Ltd. The statementread, “[This concert] was originally meant to be Eason’s first large-scale Hong Kong concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum in six years. It took months to prepare and rehearse. The cast and crew were already in standby mode, and were looking forward to give fans a wonderful performance that was long awaited. Unfortunately, due to recent circumstances and the fact that the concert would be held in two week’s time, we cannot guarantee that all 25 shows will be carried out safely, and without traffic disruptions. After many discussions with the organizers, we have decided to announce with a heavy heart that all 25 shows of the concert have been canceled.”
According to reports, the Fear and Dreams concert is expected to lose up to HK$40 million due to the cancellation. Eason himself would lose up to HK$25 million.
Eason’s concert wasn’t the only concert that has been canceled in recent weeks due to the Hong Kong protests. Hins Cheung (張敬軒) was originally scheduled to perform with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Concert from November 22nd to 25th, but it was also canceled, citing safety and traffic reasons.
ESL, Ltd. will release more details about ticket refunds on December 18, 2019 through Facebook, Urbtix, and on Eason’s official website.

It has to be done, very unfortunate.
Eason didn’t lose that money. His concerts were cancelled so he couldn’t gain that profit. Not the end of the world…
