Chen Kun and Ni Ni Personally Deny Dating Rumors

Just as shippers were still recovering from the tragic announcement that Ni Ni (倪妮) and Jing Boran (井柏然) have broken up after two years of being together, the Netflix series The Rise of Phoenixes <天盛长歌> brought us a new couple—Ni Ni and Chen Kun (陈坤).

The two costars are close on and off-screen, always bantering and teasing each other like a pair of siblings. But with the recent reports alleging that Ni Ni has been spending a lot more time at Chen Kun’s home, it appears that their relationship has developed beyond just friendship.

According to a witness sighting, Ni Ni and her assistant were seen getting on Chen Kun’s car after her dinner with Taiwanese actress Shu Qi (舒淇). She was dropped off at Chen Kun’s home and allegedly spent the night there.

But the rumored pair were quick to clarify the dating allegations.

“We became neighbors so we have more time to get together,” Chen Kun said in his Weibo update. “We happily drank and ate together, like brother and sister. And just like that, the party was over!”

Ni Ni also denied dating, stating, “No romance, just brother and sister. Moved to a new home. Nothing to see here.”
