Shirley Yeung Returns to Hong Kong; Refuses to Answer Questions Regarding Baby’s Father
TVB actress Shirley Yeung (楊思琦) returned to Hong Kong yesterday, causing a media frenzy with over 30 reporters at the airport, clustering to ask questions regarding her newborn daughter and the baby’s allegedly father, Andy Ng (吳帥). Although smiling pleasantly while greeting reporters, Shirley drew the line clearly and refused to respond to all questions regarding the baby’s father.
Donning a black cap and sunglasses, Shirley appeared to have lost her pregnancy weight. Accompanied by TVB executive, Virginia Lok (樂易玲), and Deputy Director of External Affairs, Tsang Sing Ming (曾醒明), Shirley greeted the press and thanked her family, friends, TVB, and especially Ms. Lok for lending their support. In the coming days, Shirley vowed that the most important thing was to take good care of her newborn daughter, Krystal.
Flying solo from Los Angeles, USA, Shirley revealed that her daughter took an earlier flight back to Hong Kong. Shirley stated, “The baby is too young; the camera flashes are not good for her!” When asked if her daughter will bear Shirley’s surname, she said, “Yes.”
Amidst the recent rumors of her breakup with Andy Ng and his disappearance, Shirley apparently predicted that her return to Hong Kong would likely cause a stir. Yet, she still chose this sensitive time to resume work immediately, fueling claims that she was eager to earn more money in order to pay for the existing mortgages of 3 houses, while raising her daughter on her own. Reporters asked for the identity of the baby’s father, but Shirley responded, “I will not respond to that question.” Asked if she had already broken up with the father of her daughter, she replied, “I will not respond.”
Ms. Lok interjected and said, “From now on, you need to listen to your mother more; no need to be so stubborn!” Shirley said, “Yes, I will listen to the company and Ms. Lok from now on.” Ms. Lok urged that there was no need to rush back to work, advising Shirley to take her time.
Speculations were rife as to what would occur once Shirley resumed work at TVB, where her ex-boyfriend of 9 years, Gregory Lee (李泳豪), also worked. Earlier, Gregory had indicated that he would offer Shirley help as a friend if she needed, but crossed out any chances of reconcilation. Shirley appeared to share the same sentiment, noting that she will not contact Gregory, as her intention was to focus on work and taking care of her daughter.
Afterward, Shirley posted a photo of Krystal and herself on her Weibo blog, “We have finally returned to Hong Kong! Although I feel a bit tired, it is a very warm feeling to return home!” Realizing that Shirley will have a difficult road ahead as a single mother, many fans voiced their support and complimented on the cuteness of her daughter. A few netizens continued to ask about the identity of the baby’s father.

Jayne: I found Ms. Lok’s remark about Shirley listening to her mother, Mrs. Yeung, was quite inane. Shirley is a grown woman and capable of making her own decisions. She had carved this path and must face up to her own responsibilities right now. Things should be fine as long as she has the financial strength to meet ends meet, as well as love the baby unconditionally, regardless of what the baby’s father had done.
All the best in your career and upbringing of your daughter.
The most important thing is to look forward and learn from the mistakes.
Yes, you should listen to your superior and family.
Listen to your mother more? I think thats what got her in this mess if the reports are true.
it appears to me that they are reffering Ms. Lok as shirley’s mother
“From now on, you need to listen to your mother more; no need to be so stubborn!” —-> could this mean ‘listen to tvb more, and not your reall mother more’?? lol
The baby is cute. Whatever it is, I wish Shirley and her baby good health and happiness always. May God give Shirley the strength to bring her baby up.
I wish all the best for these two.
I think that is good to listen to your mother, but it depends on what it is since mom is not always right. Also, Shirley is a grown woman who is now a mother herself so why should she listen to her mother and obey her in every way?? I think you still should to some extent but not over everything…
“From now on, you need to listen to your mother more; no need to be so stubborn!”
I think Ms. Lok is referring to TVB. It’s well-known that Shirley didn’t listen to TVB and made her relationship public back then. That’s why she was froze.
*frozen.
Is it just me or is this ‘drama’ isn’t going to end anytime soon?
“I think Ms. Lok is referring to TVB. It’s well-known that Shirley didn’t listen to TVB and made her relationship public back then. That’s why she was froze.” …………..agree.
I think it was Shirley’s biological mother who got her into this mess as reported by the media.
Shirley, good luck in your future life and acting career. I think you should concentrate on taking care of your daughter first. When Krystal is about 6 months old, you can start working again.
All the best!
Shirley looks so young in the picture!
Baby very Cute!!!
I think Shirley’s daughter does not look like her mom now. She may look like her dad. Hope she will be another pretty Shirley in future.
“I found Ms. Lok’s remark about Shirley listening to her mother, Mrs. Yeung, was quite inane. “
Yes, that’s an inane thing to say to a grown woman, in public some more.
And since Shirley needs the TVB job now, she can reply no other way except “Yes, I will listen to the company and Ms. Lok from now on.”
Btw, I read in another magazine that Shirley’s BB’s chinese name in Yeung Cheuk Wing (楊卓穎). Remind’s me of Elaine Ng’s daughter’s name Ng Cheuk Lam.
I recently listen to the interview of Elaine Ng in RTHK.

Very insightful and inspiring interview on how she handles her life and her pregnancy out of wedlock and the path and action she takes for her precious daughter.
Krystal looks exactly like Andy.
andy’s clone, feel sorry gregory
Can Shirley’s daughter be anymore cuter? I want to hug her. Such a cute little baby girl. Her ‘O’ mouth so cute. 🙂
It is not quite fair to criticize Virginia Lok for her statement. Perhaps she treats every actress as her daughter so she talks to Shirley like her Mom.
I heard that Virginia Lok, in fact, helped her a lot last year so that Shirley could finish all her work (or whatever work she could get) before she took her leave of absence.
Agree that Krystal looks exactly like Andy unfortunately. It will remind more of Shirley’s pain. Besides, her daughter will look prettier if she looks like her mom.
That baby is very tanned. Los Angeles must be very sunny.
Hahahah! Maybe she will grow fairer in future!
It could be just the flashlight and focus (on Shirley) of the picture.
Or maybe Louis Koo is the father! 😮
Shirley wished!!! Such a good-looking father!!!
Louis Koo would be suicidal if his baby was this dark because it would not be his baby. You just don’t become dark when you start making movies. Could this be Chris Tucker’s baby?
Maybe the baby is still reddish so look dark in picture.
wish her all the best…
I admit I find Shirley pretty but I have always feel that her dimples are kinda fake when she smiled. Or is it dimples, or cheekbones?
I wish Shirley good luck in raising her daughter, whoever the father is and whatever the mother and father had done earlier. What’s more important is the future of the baby 🙂
