How Jinny Ng Won Over Her Mother-in-Law
In a recent episode of All Things Girl <姊妹淘>, the hosts and guests delved into the topic of meeting their other half’s parents for the first time. Co-host Jinny Ng (吳若希), who is married to Macanese heir Alex Ho (何兆鴻), revealed her initial meeting with her mother-in-law was very “embarrassing.”
At the time, she was dating Alex and cooking at his house while he was asleep when his mother showed up unannounced. “The door suddenly flung open, and I saw a piercing set of eyes stare at me,” Jinny recalled. “She didn’t say anything. She just set down the container of soup and asked, ‘Where’s Alex?’ ”
Jinny nervously replied Alex was still sleeping. “She said, ‘Tell him to drink it later.’ Then she slammed the door shut and left. I was so worried I gave a bad impression,” the mother of one expressed.
However, when Jinny officially met Alex’s parents at dinner, she managed to win over her mother-in-law. Since the singer didn’t have much opportunity to eat home-cooked meals, she was so happy to eat Alex’s mom’s food.
“I thought his mom’s cooking was so good. I kept eating, and I could tell his mom appreciated that, and she started smiling at me more often. So I advise everyone to express appreciation for your other half’s cooking for brownie points,” Jinny said laughing.
