Michelle Reis Considers Making a Comeback
Although Michelle Reis (李嘉欣) has faded from the entertainment spotlight for the most part since her marriage to businessman Julian Hui (許晉亨) in 2008, the former actress recently stepped back on screen in the Chinese variety show, Real Actor <演員派>.
At a recent Christmas charity event, Michelle shared that stepping back into the acting life requires its adjustments. “Because this was a reality show, I often had to change costumes. I had to go from modern clothing to ancient clothing, back and forth, so the filming process took a lot longer. Compared to filming ancient dramas back then, it is very different this time. However, it was a happy experience. There was a scene where I filmed opposite Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) and we got to film it in Cantonese. This allowed us to get into character more.”
On whether this was the first step to restarting her filming career, Michelle candidly expressed, “Last Autumn Festival, I could not spend it with my family because I had to attend a promotional event. So going forward when I receive invitations, I will have to really consider it first. Ultimately, I really don’t want to leave Hong Kong for an extended period of time. However, if I come across a good team and something unique, I will definitely be tempted.”
Attending this Christmas charity event, Michelle brought her husband and eight-year-old son, Jayden Max Hui. The mother-and-son duo performed a Christmas poem on stage for the event. Michelle shared, “Last year, this charity also invited us to participate. Jayden Max really wanted to partake in it this year too, so we are continuing to do so.”
