Lai Lok Yi Wants to Consume More Oysters to Chase for a Baby Girl

Lai Lok-yi (黎諾懿) has never been shy about wanting to have another baby. He had shared this wish with the media since as early as April 2017, when he and his wife Nicole Lee (李潔瑩) welcomed their son, “Little Spring Chicken”.

Even Nicole has been urging Lok-yi to find the time for them to do the deed. But with back-to-back drama promotions and a successful reality show to boot which aired last year, it was hard for Lok-yi to find some alone time with his wife.

“When she’s not busy, I’m busy,” Lok-yi. “But for this new year, I will try my best to focus on chasing a daughter.”

A foodie and a love for cooking, Lok-yi’s reality cooking show A Chef and A Gentleman <懿想得到> was a ratings hit. Inviting guests such as Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健), Nancy Sit (薛家燕), Lawrence Cheng (鄭丹瑞), and Ali Lee (李佳芯), Lok-yi’s show attracted a wide demographic. He hopes to be able to film a second season this year. “I still have many friends I need to invite, such as Sharon Chan (陳敏之), Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Christine Ng (伍詠薇)… The first season was too easy. If a second season gets the green light, I want to make it more challenging.”

Lok-yi shared that TVB is also looking into making a Hong Kong version of the mainland Chinese food show Chinese Restaurant <中餐廳>, but if it was to be made, filming for the show won’t happen until the latter half of 2020.

As for how he plans on shaping himself to chase for a daughter, Lok-yi said, “I heard oyster can strengthen your body. Chasing for a daughter will be my number one project this year. Even my wife is rushing me. She doesn’t want to have a geriatric pregnancy! We weren’t able to chase for a pig girl last year, but maybe a rat girl is good!”
