Hype for Greg Hsu’s “On Your Wedding Day”
The upcoming romance tops Weibo searches.
Rising in popularity with his performances in Someday or One Day <想見你>, Nowhere Man <罪夢者> and A Sun <陽光普照>, Taiwanese actor Greg Hsu (許光漢) has become the newly minted Taiwanese male god. The 29-year-old actor dropped news on Weibo that he would be starring in Mainland romance-themed film On Your Wedding Day <你的婚禮> next alongside 23-year-old Chinese actress Zhang Ruonan (章若楠). Recently released movie posters showing a playful and lively interaction between the two leads quickly prompted the film to rise to the top of Weibo search rankings.
Previously, Greg had announced plans to take on the Mainland market by starring in dramas and movies, and had received encouraging support from netizens. When contacted, Greg’s manager Peggy revealed that plans have just been made and that no details could be revealed at the moment yet.
On Your Wedding Day is reportedly a remake of hit 2018 South Korean film of the same name which starred Kim Young-kwang and Park Bo-Young.
