Fala Chen Calls Out President Trump’s Tweet as Racist
The coronavirus pandemic, officially known as the COVID-19, is quickly infecting communities outside of mainland China, in particular Europe and Northern America. The San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California has already ordered its counties to have a “shelter in place” lockdown—the country’s most draconian-like measures of containing the coronavirus since the outbreak—with the possibility of New York following suit very soon.
On March 16th, President Donald Trump tweeted out a controversial statement that had upset many communities. He stated, “The United States will be powerfully supporting those industries, like Airlines and others, that are particularly affected by the Chinese Virus. We will be stronger than ever before!”
Using the term “Chinese Virus” to describe COVID-19, the president’s tweet had sparked widespread anger among local and international communities, with many referring the tweet as intentionally racist. Many online communities and national entities have publicly denounced the tweet. Celebrities have also followed suit, including former TVB actress Fala Chen (陳法拉), who is a naturalized American citizen. She shared the tweet on her Instagram story and said, “Why does he have even the energy to make up s*** like that when we have so much to deal with and heal from?” She then added, “This is intentional,” with the hashtag “racist.”

Google is your friend, just search for some hate attacks on Chinese/Asian-Americans, as a result of this virus. If it was Norwegian, Swiss or Greek virus, doubt many would suffer such attacks, since they tend to “blend in” better.

It’s easy for people to point the finger and blame, especially during a hard time like this. As a “leader” Trump’s words have consequences. Many organizations & officials have came out to say that now is not the time for racism. During this difficult time, unless there are undisputed/concrete evidence or proof, for that China official to tweet such sensitive comment, it will do more harm than good! Without that concrete proof, the accuser and the accused are free to say anything they want to defend their argument that will end up in meaningless endless cycle!

It’s not even a conspiracy theory when the US CDC admitted in front of The US congress that it was a possibility because tens of thousands Americans died last year around September and October exhibiting the same symptoms of COVID19 but they were labeled as deaths from influenza at the time. Some of those were retested recently for the covid19, they came back positive. In other words, there’s a strong possibility that the virus came from the USA into Wuhan and that’s what the Chinese government official stated. Hes not wrong for saying that because it is a possibility since there was a world military event in October where Americans were invited to Wuhan. Again, look it up, do your own research.
Just because the mainstream media doesn’t report that doesn’t mean it’s not factual and it’s some conspiracy theory.

I believe this is the video that you were talking about in your above post. It is only a very small excerpt of 36 seconds on a question raised by Harley Rouda (US Congressman of California) for Dr. Robert Redfield (Director of CDC) asking if there were some influenza patients died of Covid-19. Dr. Redfield said it could be possible, but no timing was specified in the conversation. Those influenza patients died of Covid-19 could have occurred recently after the Wuhan outbreak.
The video was extracted and put on YouTube by China’s Xinhua News and was made it official that the Covid-19 was brought into China by the States to mislead people across the Globe, and to shift the blame of the outbreak to the States.
Smart people should be able to find out the truth.

With the economy is hitting recession hard, many will lose their houses and jobs, and the sentiment against Chinese is gonna be highest as ever. You have Chinese people who blatantly accuse US for infect China with the virus, these same people running around chanting how well China is at containing the virus. These 2 factors further fuel the hate. If China just go the record and said yes, it’s originate from our country, let’s focus on helping each other through this. Then racist people will be treated like clowns. Most people have enough commonsense to not be racist or know what is racist and won’t act racistly. They bad mouth him, think he’s too incompetent to take care of his own kid, couldn’t even just take his kid out to the park by himself, must have them with him in order to do so so they can keep an eye on him because he couldn’t do anything because he’s white! N their kid is like 7yo! He has no say in anything, because he doesn’t know anything because he’s white! Meanwhile she, and her mother got drunk while taking care of the kid (their taking care of the kid was: stay home, get drunk, the kid can do whatever inside the house!).
Then I had another mainland lady who used a japanese mom to take care of her son for her. Every morning, she (or one of her family member) would drop the son at the japanese lady’s place so she can continue sleeping. She also got the japanese lady to drive her to gym (they live across from each other), and she even dared ask the japanese lady to drop her by the door so she doesn’t have to walk from the car to the door!
Now I know not all mainland are racist, but I have yet to meet one, and the one I met is like the worst kind!

All scientists around the world confirmed the virus is indeed comes from wild animals especially bats and ppl in Wuhan selling wild animals & no surprise they con infected and now spread all over the world. I believe this is the video that Anon was talking about in his above post. It is only a very small excerpt of 36 seconds on a question raised by Harley Rouda (US Congressman of California) for Dr. Robert Redfield (Director of CDC) asking if there were some influenza patients had died of Covid-19. Dr. Redfield said it could be possible, but no timing was specified in the conversation. Those influenza patients died of Covid-19 could have occurred recently after the Wuhan outbreak.
The video was extracted and put on YouTube by China’s Xinhua News and was made it official that the Covid-19 was brought into China by the States to mislead people across the Globe, and to shift the blame of the outbreak to the States.
Smart people should be able to find out the truth.

I never am a Trump supporter, I never like him or even thinking about moving back to my home country Canada when he got elected. BUT in this case, he’s not wrong. A human in China got infected with the virus. And that human is from China, what do you expect him to call the virus if you think the term “Chinese virus” is racist?

@luye Maybe this virus started in many countries around the same time? Just that China was the first one to have a test kit to detect it. Read that many ppl in the US last year had odd flu-like symptoms that doctors just thought were another form of the flu.

@pocky if the virus starts at the same time around the world, you should see similar death around the world AT THE SAME TIME. Instead we have a time lag, and the time lag just so happen to mimic whatever happened in China??? They know how long each country is behind the other, and that’s what they use to create policy for prevention.

@contae words have racism connotations when we give it one. It’s an indisputable fact that the virus come from China. Chinese virus is basically a matter of fact. We can run around calling it covid19 to be ethical, but the resentment against Chinese will be high unfortunately, and it’s already there whether Trump calls it Chinese virus or Covid-19. So many are losing their jobs as we speak, and so many are losing their lives and loved one, our way of lives are changed for the next 6mo at least (that’s if it’s good, 18mo if it’s bad), arguing about the name of the virus distract us all from the fact that China didn’t learn from SARS, and caused this while trying to increase their country’s wealth.
With everyone quarantined, and forced lock down, don’t think there will be violence in the near future, considering these things will go on for a month or 2 at least. People will have more to worry about: job, their health, etc. if anything, worry about civil unrest and maybe civil war before the racism. And yes, only time will tell. The whole world is heading toward a really sh1tty hole

I had a “white” friend, he’s fluent in 7 languages, and I think he got a point here. Chinese ppl call “white” ppl “yeung kuay” “black” ppl “hak kuay” so…..is that not racist? Do they ever offended by what Asian call them? Why you guys are so offended by the US President call the Wuhan virus a Chinese Virus? The Chinese ppl are more racist than a lot more other races I would say. So what if the virus comes from another asian country and the president use that country name to call the virus, do you think you’re going to speak up for that country or you’ll go along with him?
Also, his wife is Chinese. His kids are more Asian than white. And as of now, the only racist comment that his kids got from school was actually from their “Chinese” classmate’s grandma. Their classmate told them that his/her grandma asked how can their Mom can marry a “white” can any Chinese ppl answer that question?
