HANA Romances Zac Liu in New Music Video for TVB’s “Airport Strikers”
Hana Kuk (菊梓喬) has just dropped the music video for her latest single “If You Understand” <如果你明白>, the ending theme for TVB’s new drama Airport Strikers <機場特警> which premiered on Monday.
The director called in Hana’s labelmate, 21-year-old Zac Liu (劉子碩), to be her love interest in the music video. Hana plays a woman who looks forward to love.
“Thank you to the director for coming up with this story,” said Hana. “Now I finally get to have the opportunity to have a man who loves and protects me.”
Hana, who is 33 years old, was worried that the age difference would make their pairing appear strange onscreen. “Zac is a ‘little fresh meat’ and we have an age gap,” she said. “But after seeing the complete work, it actually didn’t look too bad.”
Zac, on the other hand, was excited for the opportunity to collaborate with his senior. “I get to star in a romance with a goddess. I remember my very first shot was the scene where I had to look at Senior with love, but I had to do several takes because I was very nervous and didn’t look natural. But Hana was very encouraging and she helped me throughout. I really learned a lot.”
The music video follows a sweet romantic relationship between Hana and Zac, but all of it turns out to be Hana’s imagination.
Hana shared, “To think about having a boy you love care for you, to always be the first one to appear when you’re in danger, to be next to you when you’re hurt or happy… but all of that ends up being just my own imagination. It’s quite pitiful.”
“If You Understand” is one of the only music videos where Hana is not the only star.
“It’s great to have a male lead,” she said. “I’m not doing these videos by myself anymore. Having someone there makes acting much easier.”
Zac, who is from Taiwan, made his debut in Hong Kong in 2017 through TVB’s big big channel. He released his debut single, “What’s So Scary About Leaving” <離開有甚麼可怕> in 2019.
