Dilireba Says She Needs to Lose Weight for New Drama “Princess Changge”
Dilireba (迪丽热巴) is starting work on a new drama despite rumors saying that she has ended her management contract with Jay Walk Studio.
The upcoming historical fiction series, based on the manhua Chang Ge Xing <长歌行> written by Xia Da (夏达), is about a Tang Dynasty princess, known as Li Changge, who disguises herself as a man as she plans an avenge plot.
Princess Changge is Dilireba’s first television drama in eight months. Costarring with Dilireba is 20-year-old Leo Wu (吴磊), who plays her love interest Ashina Sun, a royal from the Eastern Turkic Khaganate. Leo is best known for playing “Xiaofei” in 2015’s Nirvana in Fire <琅琊榜>.
Perhaps the long months without work and coronavirus stay-at-home measures have gotten Dilireba to change her diet—the 27-year-old recently shared on Weibo that she’s definitely gained weight over the months with a cartoon picture a person weighing 59.5 kg. “That’s not my weight, everyone,” she clarified. “I just want to say that I’ve gotten fatter.”
She then shared another picture of a girl trying to buckle up her jeans, hinting at fans that she needs to start dieting.
Dilireba’s personal studio forwarded the message and wrote, “Didi’s office wants to use this opportunity to kindly remind everyone to stay healthy! Manage your weight!”
Principal photography of Chang Ge Xing started March 29, 2020.
