Child Actress Amanda Evans Catching Hearts in TVB’s “Airport Strikers”

TVB’s child actors are shining in Airport Strikers <機場特警>, and one particular child actress has even started trending on popular discussion forums.

10-year-old Amanda Evans (黃子恩), who plays Carlo Ng’s (吳家樂) estranged daughter Tung Tung, has been engaging the curiosity of viewers due to her unique background and confident acting. Although only 10 years old, Amanda is extremely natural in front of the camera. Considering that she’s been doing modeling work since she was 5 years old, it’s not too hard to believe.

Amanda’s resumé includes over 200 commercials and endorsements, including commercial films for Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, HBSC, Bossini, and Toys “R” Us. Amanda’s talents include singing, ballet, and piano. She has also appeared in the Hollywood film Crazy Rich Asians, playing the child version of Astrid Leong (portrayed by Gemma Chan 陳靜).

Originally from Taiwan, Amanda’s family immigrated to Hong Kong due to work opportunities. Last year, the family relocated to Philadelphia in the United States.

Definitely a future star in the making!

  1. She’s soo cute & gorgeous! I cant believe she’s the lil girl from Crazy Rich Asians! Wow! Her stay in Hong Kong was short-lived. I’m keen to see what other shows she appears in next!! Definitely one to look out for!

  2. Appearing in TVB dramas is one of the worst ways if you want to build and have success in your acting career.

    1. @anon Yes and no. Child actors are actually fine, as they tend to be noticed more regardless of whether their acting is good or not (most audiences cut them slack) and can usually find success when young. As an example, for me personally, I actually remember most of the child actors who’ve worked for TVB dating back to the 1980s era, in some cases more than I remember some of the supporting artists’ performances. Now when those child actors grow up though, no they shouldn’t return to TVB when older because TVB sucks at casting them properly, which is why very few of the TVB child actors who returned to acting as adults found success…
