Michael Wong Celebrates 28th Wedding Anniversary

Actor Michael Wong (王敏德) and his wife, Janet Ma (馬詩慧), recently celebrated his 28-year marriage.  Although the couple had a flash marriage after dating for only seven months, they were able to sustain their relationship and work through their differences.

On his Instagram page, Michael dedicated a short, but sweet message to his wife, “Twenty-eight years ago, I got married to the love of my life. Thank you for always taking care of us.”

Despite their loving and stable relationship now, many were not keen on their relationship when the two first began dating. Many felt that Michael was a playboy and would not take the relationship seriously. Michael first met Janet when he was 26 years old and was immediately attracted to her. He unabashedly told Janet that if they had kids, their children would be very beautiful. Soon after, the two began dating.

Merely seven months into their relationship, the couple tied the knot when Janet was already five months pregnant.

As opposed to what the public may think, Michael and Janet are actually very compatible. The couple did not shy away from expressing the hard work they put in to maintain their relationship. During an interview, Michael once shared that Janet is a very stubborn woman. However, he is willing to be the first one to stake a step back and compromise. He added, “There was a time when we didn’t speak for several days. However, I would take initiative to start the conversation and apologize.” Similarly, Janet expressed that her perspective of a happy marriage is compromise and tolerance.
