Joey, Gillian, and Charlene’s Tumultuous Love Lives

Today, 39-year-old Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) and Michael Lai (賴弘國) announced their divorce after 14 months of marriage. The announcement came as a shock to the public, as many fans have been rooting for Gillian to find true love.

Prior to meeting Michael, Gillian already made tumultuous journeys toward love, but none of them ever became fruitful. In the early years of her career, she was rumored to have dated Shawn Yue (余文樂) and Juno Mak (麥浚龍). Paparazzi had photo evidence of her and Alex Fong Lik-sun (方力申) returning to Hong Kong from their Europe tour. In 2017, rumors of Charlene dating mahjong business heir Anthony Shek (石恆聰) started to circulate, which she later confirmed.

Like Gillian and Charlene, their close friend, 39-year-old Joey Yung (容祖兒), also has a similar fate. For years, it was rumored that Joey was in a lesbian relationship with Denise Ho (何韻詩). In 2013, she confirmed that she was dating Wilfred Lau (劉浩龍). Their relationship was not well-received due to their difference in popularity. They announced their split in 2019.
