Roxanne Tong (湯洛雯) has not only replaced good friend Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) in Forensic Heroes 4 <法證先鋒IV>, but she has also taken over Jacqueline’s spot in Kenneth Ma‘s (馬國明) heart. It turns out the 33-year-old actress has been quietly dating Jacqueline’s ex, 46-year-old Kenneth, for the past two months. Today, paparazzi caught the new pair of rumored lovers entering and leaving Roxanne’s home together.
This afternoon, Kenneth was seen arriving at Roxanne’s residence in Hung Hom five minutes after Roxanne returned home. He parked in the visitor’s area and did not leave her place until over four hours later. At 7:45 p.m., they emerged together in the lobby, dressed in casual outfits while wearing caps and face masks.
Reporters immediately asked if the two are dating while they were exiting the apartment complex. After some time, Kenneth finally answered, “We will not say yet. We will clarify when the time is right.”
Though they did not hold hands, they walked synchronously side by side to a nearby cellphone stand in the plaza. After a few minutes, they left the store and returned to Roxanne’s residential building, where Kenneth waved goodbye to the reporters.
How Did Kenneth and Roxanne Meet?
In 2016, Kenneth and Roxanne collaborated in the drama, My Dearly Sinful Mind <心理追兇Mind Hunter>. Playing his deceased girlfriend, Roxanne shared many kissing scenes with Kenneth, and the two developed great chemistry. Although Roxanne was in a relationship with Joey Law (羅天宇), they gradually became more acquainted when Kenneth soon began dating Jacqueline. They would see each other during mutual gatherings like the costume birthday party that Roxanne threw Jacqueline the year before. Though Jacqueline and Kenneth are no longer together, Roxanne stayed in contact with him.
Over the past few months, Roxanne and Kenneth would meet up for dinner since they have both been working at TVB City at the same time. As their relationship began to progress, they considered dating, but thought it would be awkward given Kenneth is the former lover of Roxanne’s good friend. However, Kenneth believes that his relationship with Jacqueline is in the past, and he is not afraid of starting a new relationship with someone whom he is compatible with.
Using his actions to show his sincerity, when he recently joined Instagram, Roxanne’s sister Cassandre Tong (湯樂瑤) was the first woman that he followed. However, many believe he did so accidentally and that he actually wanted to follow his rumored girlfriend Roxanne first.

Just because anyone does not date for a long time or whatever means they are gay/lesbian. If they are gay/lesbian then wouldn’t they date the same gender? Plus, just because anyone dates the opposite sex does not necessarily confirm their sexuality. My cousin who dated girls for many years found out he is gay so is dating a guy now.

Totally caught me by surprise! But I support this couple! I think Roxanne seems like a really nice, easy going, happy girl from watching her here and there in interviews and bits and pieces of her travel show with her ex, Joey. She always seems to be laughing and having a good time. Plus she’s pretty. So I think she’s a great gal. Looks and good personality. And Kenneth is a well known good guy. He is a little bit on the older side compared to her but as long as they’re happy. And he does seem happier in recent interviews and more playful. So I think this romance is healthy and off to a great start!
I don’t usually like it when friends date another friend’s ex but I can see how if the 2 that use to date was just casually dating, meaning like non-exclusive, or just started, or both parties weren’t really ever that interested, then maybe it’s ok and it’ll work. I never thought Jacqueline and Kenneth were a real couple, to be honest. I think they hung out, dated, but she was never that into him. And he just kinda strung along to see how things would develop. I don’t think he was that into her either. And I think he could sense she wasn’t that into him. So watching his interviews after he got cheated on, he appeared calm and not too upset and still asked for everyone else’s forgiveness of her. I think he was calm because they both knew their relationship wasn’t true love and it was pretty much over so he didn’t really feel like he was cheated on, even though the whole world was mad for him. He was chill.
Anyway, I think he really likes Roxanne. Kenneth is usually a low key guy who doesn’t even use social media. But he opened up an IG account a few days ago. And they both openly announced their relationship on their IG. I think you’d have to be pretty serious about each other to make things that official! Especially as an artist! And especially for 2 people who are lowkey and quiet. So good for them! Big congrats! Truly hope they last! I feel good about these two!

This screams set-up to me. It’s a PR stunt or whatever you call it. They’re playing a couple just like KM and JW did. TVB is like dang, JW busted our plan on creating an “it” couple or cover-up so just test water with RT. Let’s push them out in a public, play off as mysterious, and have them walk around aimlessly to see the reaction. This’ll also divert attention away from JW since KM has moved on.

And who’s not to say TVB is in a actress lead shortage.. diverting the news away from JW, so they can help push a come back for her. I disagree completely. Kenneth is already in the number 1 position at TVB and has had the perfect promotion as the victim of a celeb relationship in the past year which hasn’t worn off yet. There is no reason to set up a false relationship nor Kenneth has the incentive to be forced to agree to anything. His only incentive along with Roxanne at their stage of their lives is to look for the right partner to down with. This is looking good timing and a good match….

@luye Correct me if I’m wrong.. but I believe the first girl Kenneth was interested in was Margie Tsang from loong ago. Then he dated Nancy Wu for a bit, then came JW. That was about it. Kenneth IS a good guy that unfortunately many female TVB artist fail to appreciate because he is frugal, mom’s boy, and doesn’t really know how to woo girls with words. Females especially the younger ones like to be doted on, taken on vacation, and a man who is independent from mommy. @jjwong it’s all about the staging/PR and when to release the news. TVB wor. If we all look back to the incidents, TVB definitely staged it. Something is up…. JW we all know she has no remorse to what happened. They probably did know the reporter were waiting… TVB and both K and R probably did know that’s why everyone including TVB were all so calm. For now Kenneth and Roxanne both looks good together.. so we’ll see.

Maybe but I have a feeling it is more real rather than a set up. First of all, for them to go on social media to confirm it truly means something. They could have just said they were dating. Kenneth does not seem like the type to go on social media and he started an account now all of a sudden for Roxanne. My gut feeling tells me that they are real, but I can be wrong too. Time will tell..

Step 2 : Post a cpl photos and state that it’s a fresh new start
Step 3 : Surprise! A reporter is waiting there to ‘expose’ your dating
Step 4 : Parade around town in mix matching black and white clothes. Psychological trick to get ppl to think they are dating.
Step 5 : How convenient, now that Kenneth has IG, they can post identical posts within hours of being ‘caught’ by the reporter.

As they said themselves, they have both been super busy working on filming drama that they only have time to dine at the TVB Canteen and visit on set of filming. They said no one really suspected or even questioned them. Then suddenly a reporter.. someone who isn’t even on set with them waits for Kenneth outside Roxanne’s apartment and films them? Meeting parents doesn’t represent much as Kenneth also met JW’s parents vice versa and even travelled to Australia to attend JW’s sister’s wedding. Yet people call JW and Kenneth’s relationship ‘not real’ and a setup by TVB. I do believe that whether it be Kenneth and JW or Kenneth and Roxanne, they are ‘trying’ to work out a relationship that TVB had a hand in promoting.

I think you should calm down. I don’t know why you are analysing in such detail and make assumptions. Whether it’s a relationship or not, it’s their lives and not ours. We should to give them the benefit of the doubt unless there’s clear evidence that it it isn’t. @jjwong Based on the interview with Kenneth it sounds like they didn’t want to hide but also didn’t want to just announce it like some PR stunt, so they agreed that if they are photographed together then they will announce their relationship. It sounds real to me. I know many regular people who also don’t like to announce their relationship on purpose, but will admit if asked.
@iciel Noticed how Kenneth made the statement that they mutually agreed not to announce it until they were photographed cuz they don’t want to seem like they are creating news? I’ve seen in 4 different interviews how Kenneth stated this … his words are exactly the same. As if he was reciting a sentence. In most cases, altho you are recounting the same content, your words are different each time you recount it, no one says the exact same words each time. It sounds rehearsed.

Tbh I’m kinda upset about this. Very surprising news, I don’t like Roxanne Tong but I hope Kenneth finally gets to be happy with someone he loves. (at least Roxanne acts better than Jacqueline x2). This doesn’t feel right.. feels like another set up by TVB. Why? Well, first, it feels staged when Kenneth Ma just a few days ago set up his IG account stating it’s a fresh beginning. Kenneth Ma is not the social media type. Secondly, why would a reporter suddenly be at Roxanne’s house waiting for Kenneth to pull up and enter her building.. do you suppose someone tipped the reporter off? Thirdly, the grand gesture of walking out of her apartment building together in mix matching black and white.. walking quite a few blocks to a nearby store to look at phone accessories but not buy anything and walk back home? It feels soooo staged. In all honestly, I think Roxanne appears sweet, but something about her is off and feels fake. Like she steps on people “innocently” to get her roles at TVB. I didn’t like her news when she dated Joey from CHL days. Now, it feels like since she was offered Jacqueline’s spot of Forensic Heroes, why not take her BF too? Roxanne will not stay with Kenneth cuz he’s too old for her and she will leave him to leech on to someone else who can bring her the ‘fame’ she so desperately seek. Especially when he keeps stating that they have an agreement to not say anything until they are caught cuz “They don’t want to seem like they are creating news”.. the way he delivered that sentence in a few of his interviews sounds rehearsed, the statement came out the same exact way in every interview. Normal people don’t talk like that.. the content is the same, but each time it’s delivered, the words should come out differently… but Kenneth sounds like he’s reciting a pre written dialog.
@moseenaddict I’ve seen enough KM’s interviews to say hat he does that almost in every interview. I am guessing that is his way of handling all the reporters coming at him with the same set of question.
Anyway, from his latest interviews, I feel this is real, at least from his side. The way he talked about Roxanne is different from the way he talked about JW. With JW, there’s always this feeling that he’s just playing (or maybe stringing) along. It’s more of a casual relationship for both because they have such a different personalities , although they had also met each other’s families, with KM even attending JW’s sister wedding in Australia.
I don’t know much about Roxanne, haven’t seen any of her interviews to gauge her reactions. But KM seemed to be besotted at this point lol maybe early stage of relationship.
@pompidur Maybe with experience (as JW was the 1st TVB set up) Kenneth learned how to speak of the other half. As you said, having dinner with Roxanne’s parents is no biggie as Kenneth previously flew to AUS to attend JW’s sister’s wedding and JW’s family also praised them.
What I’m seeing is the same path with both JW and Roxanne. TVB started heavily promoting both girls after their relationship with Kenneth came to light. TVB gave JW a lot of opportunities and commercials/events after being with Kenneth. But JW made a wrong move by clinging on to AH thinking he can give her even more opportunities in her singing career, and in a way, ditching TVB. If you read the news, Roxanne was suddenly picked and given JW’s role in Forensic. She is playing Lead in the drama she is filming now. If Roxanne can pull it on her own, she would not be concentrated in dating a man that’s 13 yrs older than her, rather focusing on her career. Her parents won’t be very happy with the fact that their daughter is not dating someone her own age. Kenneth is almost 50!! It’s not like a 25 year old dating a 38 year old.
I am guessing that the window-shopping outing is their way of “coming out”. They are done with hiding their relationship. What’s with the jacket and hoodie though? It’s summer in Hong Kong; it’s about 30’c even at night…..

@nobooo As Kenneth and Roxanne seem to be very serious about this relationship (they’ve even met the parents), I think going public is the right thing to do. As they would be eating out together and having normal dates, so going public means they have more freedom and no need to just meet up at home. Kenneth has been visiting Roxanne on the filming set of her new drama frequently, so a lot of colleagues already got the hint.
It’s also a way to give each other security that they are serious and they are “off the market”.
@jayne I do agree that they appear serious. Kenneth because he has been trying to settle down. Roxanne is serious because with this new relationship comes many new opportunities. For me, I’ve never liked Roxanne’s image beginning from her CHL days and dating Joey. She grasped on the little bit of fame from playing a couple with Joey and started dating him… She got some noise and got more filming opportunities while being with Joey.. but once that noise died down, their relationship ended and she was on the lookout for new ‘opportunities’ so of course she jumped at the chance with the opportunity to replace JW. Roxanne hasn’t been heavily promoted by TVB in the past 2 years eventho TVB was lacking female leads. It wasn’t until lately after replacing JW that Roxanne now has the lead in the current drama she’s filming. I guess only time can tell. Let’s hope to see more of them on ‘Normal Dates’ as I believe JW and Kenneth had few of them. But then, doesn’t say much cuz he flew all the way to AUS with JW.

@luye That’s the problem. TVB tried and tried to give Roxanne opportunities to make it big.. but she still kinda floated. She is not SOLID. A lot of people still don’t know who she is or she has not had a role that really popped. She needs more noise and needs to convince TVB to continue to invest in her and give her chances.
I wanted to share with everyone why I feel Roxanne is a bit fake…. There are more, but this is a most recent one. Clearly she had close interaction with Elaine Yu’s ex boyfriend. But she denies it.

@wm2017 i doubt Roxanne will cheat. That vid was over a year ago.
@luye I too, doubt Roxanne will cheat. She’s smarter than that. What I was trying to point out is that she also has her reasons for ‘meeting’ people and she is not as innocent as we tend to think she is. I feel as a TVB artist, you’ll need to make some ‘sacrifices’ if you want more opportunities whether in the entertainment industry or personal life.

Maybe you are right and maybe not. However, if it is fake then I feel bad for Kenneth as he is getting played again….Hope Roxanne does not hurt Kenneth like JW did.
