Father’s Day 2020: Shawn Yue, Wong Cho-lam to Become Dads Again
On Father’s Day, celebrities Shawn Yue (余文樂) and Wong Cho-lam (王祖藍) announced on their respective social media accounts that they are to be new father’s again!
They each confirmed on their social media accounts that their wives are pregnant for a second time.
Shawn Yue married Taiwanese actress Sarah Wang (王棠云), daughter of Taiwan’s “belt king” Wang Tung-sheng (王東生), in 2017. The couple have one son Cody, born in May 2018. On Father’s Day 202, Shawn shared a photo of Cody wearing a shirt that said “Best Brother” to social media. Fans asked if Sarah was expecting, and Shawn replied “yes.”
Sarah then announced the good news on her social media, saying, “Mr. Yue and I are well-prepared. Right now the only one who probably doesn’t know the situation is Little Boss Yue. He still doesn’t know that there will be someone who will fight for his toys. [I] asked if he wanted a younger brother or younger sister, and he responded that he wanted Lightning McQueen!”
Wong Cho-lam and his wife Leanne Li (李亞男) also announced on Father’s Day that they are expecting their second child. In a video they shared on social media, they pointed at Leanne’s stomach and asked their 18-month-old daughter Gabrielle if she knew who was in it. Gabrielle replied, “BB.”
Wong Cho-lam said in a later interview, “Thank you all for your blessings. Leanne and I had reached a consensus about having another child after Gabby turned one. I’m so grateful of this timing. We don’t plan on having more after this one. We think two is perfectly enough. I also don’t want my wife to suffer too much. I know a lot of people had good news to announce today. We wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day!”
Asking if Leanne is expecting a girl or boy, he said, “I’ve always given tips! Take a guess!”
Leanne’s friend Christine Kuo (苟芸慧) was reached out for comment. Christine said, “We were told about it already, and we are so happy for her. (When will it be your turn?) At the moment, I say I want to focus on my career. I’m not in a hurry.”
