“Shang-Chi” Will Resume Filming in Australia
After various film projects came to a sudden halt due to the global impact of the COVID-19 outbreak a few months ago, the entertainment industry is starting to pick itself back up again. Marvel has just announced that the anticipated movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings <上氣> will resume filming in Australia at the end of this month, given the country’s steady decline of COVID-19 cases.
Filming commenced in Australia earlier this year before the outbreak occurred, but the rise in COVID-19 causes put a pause on the shoot. After Marvel considered the current situation and reached out to their contacts in Australia, they deemed the conditions safe enough to progress with the production. However, the team will still take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the cast and crewmembers.
Details About the Movie
Shang Chi is the first Marvel movie to consist of a predominately Asian cast, including Simu Liu (劉思慕) as Shang Chi and Tony Leung Chiu-Wai (梁朝偉) as the antagonist, The Mandarin. Awkwafina is also a confirmed cast member, but her role is a secret for now.
