Designer Fashion Brands in “It’s Okay to Not be Okay”
Currently streaming on Netflix, Korean drama It’s Okay to Not Be Okay is receiving lukewarm reception despite this being Kim Soo Hyun’s first drama upon completion of his mandatory military training. Aside from the hype for the lead stars, the drama’s luxurious fashion looks is catching viewers’ attention.
In It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Kim Soo Hyun plays a caregiver in a psychiatric ward who refuses to love while Seo Ye Ji plays an antisocial children’s book author who struggles to understand love. As the characters bond and heal each other’s psychological wounds, romance starts to develop between them.
With Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Jin’s characters possessing vastly different personalities, this is reflected in their wardrobe choices. While Kim Soo Hyun’s character dresses modestly, Seo Ye Ji’s character often catches eyes with her luxury-branded attire.
The costume design team put in effort to make Seo Ye Ji’s character appear as the elegant and fashion forward heroine. In fact, Seo Ye Ji is often seen donning designer accessories such as Cartier’s Juste Un Clou platinum bracelet, a Bvlgari’s Serpenti snake watch or holding a Givenchy GV3 handbag. Other luxury brands that have made an appearance in the drama include Jimmy Choo, Loewe and Alexander McQueen.
Despite the pleasing aesthetics and fashionable looks in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, the drama is experiencing declining ratings, from 6.1% in its premiere week to 4.9% for its fourth episode, as viewers found the pacing to be too slow.
