Shawn Yue’s New Life in Taiwan
With his wife pregnant with the second baby, Shawn is selling off his luxury cars for his children’s education fund.
Since marrying Taiwanese actress-model Sara Wang (王棠云) in 2017, Shawn Yue (余文樂) has been focused on the Chinese and Taiwanese markets. A year ago, the couple welcomed their son Cody (余初見) and on Father’s Day this year, announced that they are expecting their second child, a daughter.
Making plans to settle down in Taiwan, Shawn spent HKD$70 million on a luxurious mansion in Taipei’s Zhongzheng district, where he is now living and taking care of his expectant wife. Since COVID-19, film and television productions have taken a hit, prompting the actor to enjoy family bliss.
Manages a Slew of Side Businesses
Having two children in two years with Sara, who is also the heiress of a leather goods company, Shawn has to shoulder more financial pressures. The actor has toned down his ways to become a better husband and father.
Diversifying his income sources, Shawn started his own clothing brand MADNESS in 2016 and created MAD Team in 2018, dabbling in both fashion and e-sports. At the same time, he is also a keen collector of antique watches, owning many luxury timepieces which are likely to increase in value.
Reports say that Shawn intends to sell his many cars in Hong Kong to raise cash either for his children’s educational needs or for business investments in Taiwan. A fan of all things automobile-related, the 38-year-old has acquired many expensive cars. Among his prized possessions are a Porsche 911 GT3RT worth $30 million Hong Kong dollars, in addition to a Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz and other renowned models. He also gets around in a Porsche 911 race car in Taiwan.
Hoping to invest further in the Taiwanese real estate market, Shawn had viewed four apartments in Taipei’s Civic Boulevard, and was ready to fork out at least HK$40 million on a mansion. It was revealed that the picky homebuyer has yet to settle on an ideal unit, which must be quiet with a high degree of privacy.

he looks a whole lot happier than when he was in hk. taiwan seems like a very good place to live. less costly, don’t know about work environment but just the housing prices makes taiwan seem more laid back compared to other asian cities.
Nice congrats to him. I was wondering where he went. Is he done with acting? Glad he’s in Taiwan though and not the prc.
