Kai Ko Suspected to Have Brain Tumor; Elva Hsiao Expresses Love

Taiwanese actor, Kai Ko (柯震东),  announced that he was suspected in having a tumor in his brain. He will be receiving brain surgery to remove the tumor-like growth. At a promotional event held in Hong Kong yesterday, Kai assured fans that the surgery was minor and asked them not to be too worried about him!

Last year, Kai had discovered that there was a growth in the back of his brain. Although Kai assured fans that his condition was not dangerous, he will be undergoing surgery to have the growth removed in his brain. He pointed to his brain, “There is a little toy in here!” Asked whether the surgery will be risky, he said, “I’m afraid that it will hurt!” The post-surgery effects were not known at this point. Kai will resume working in July or August.

Twenty-year-old Kai Ko rose to prominence after winning the Best New Actor Award at the 2011 Golden Horse Awards for his performance in the blockbuster hit, You Are the Apple of My Eyes <那些年，我们一起追过的女孩>. His love life came under scrutiny when Kai was spotted strolling in the park with rumored girlfriend, 32-year-old Elva Hsiao(萧亚轩) in April.

Despite the 12 year gap between Kai and Elva, the pair was comfortable in declaring their “friendship” before the public. Kai professed earlier that he did not mind dating older women. When asked by the press yesterday whether there was possibility to advance further with Elva, he smiled and said “Yes, there is always possibility to develop further.”

Kai indicated that Elva knew of his upcoming brain surgery. He said, “All my friends told me not to worry!” Asked who he wished to accompany him [to the hospital], he said, “That’s a big trap! Of course, my parents!”

Meanwhile, Elva Hsiao may have secretly sent Kai Ko a love message via her Weibo blog yesterday. She wrote, “Happy 520 (I love you) babez X.” Undoubtedly, Kai would be included as one of Elva’s “babez”!
