Winki Lai Avoids Discussing Crystal Fung and Kaman Kong’s Rivalry
Deciphering Scheming Girls <解構心機女> has not aired yet, but the new talk show is already drumming up buzz because of the speculated rivalry between co-hosts, Crystal Fung (馮盈盈) and Kaman Kong (江嘉敏). After Crystal and Kaman’s fallout last year, the two actresses have been avoiding each other so many are curious how this co-hosting situation will work.
Owen Cheung (張振朗), who will be appearing on the show as a guest, was asked if he is ready for the drama between the hosts. He laughed and said, “We haven’t officially filmed it yet, but I know they are fierce.” As the show will focus on how women scheme in dating situations, will Owen gain better insight afterward? “Maybe I am too naive that I don’t even recognize scheming, but personally I don’t care too much.”
Working with Crystal and Kaman in Deciphering Scheming Girls, Winki Lai (赖慰玲) joked that her role is the “lubricant” to ensure that the show runs smoothly. When asked whether Crystal or Kaman is a better actress and schemer, Winki laughed and said that both are great at acting and that she is just responsible for creating an amicable atmosphere.
When interest turned towards Winki’s recent splurge of $70,000 Hong Kong dollars on educational spending for her 3-year-old son, she clarified that the English language acquisition kit was a gift from a customer. Unlike many Tiger Moms in Hong Kong, Winki does not want to push her son and hopes he can grow up without feeling a lot of pressure.
