Rebecca Zhu Wants to Brush Up on Acting Skills in Preparation for “Rosy Business 4”

Heavily promoted by the station, Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) appeared in over 20 dramas and 5 movies.  Winning Best Supporting Actress in A General, A Scholar and A Eunuch <超時空男臣>, her acting was positively received. However, last year, Rebecca quietly retreated from the limelight when she took time off to visit her family in Suzhou. In her absence, Sisley Choi (蔡思貝) and Samantha Ko (高海寧) quickly stepped in to fill TVB’s leading roles.

Rebecca Signals Her Return to TVB

It has been a year since the 33-year-old appeared in TVB drama Forensic Heroes 5 <巾幗梟雄IV>, and she seems to have mysteriously disappeared from the public eye for one year.

Finally making a recent appearance in variety show Have a Big Laugh <開心大綜藝>, Rebecca’s next project is Rosy Business 4 <巾幗梟雄IV>, which will start filming in Hengdian in August. She will be playing Wayne Lai’s (黎耀祥) sister and will have a romance arc with Him Law (羅子溢).

Before filming starts for the drama, Rebecca wants to enroll in some acting classes. She was seen visiting an acting academy and filling out a registration form, but later realized that the school was not open to the public due to the pandemic. Rebecca gathered a stack of pamphlets, and was seen reading them at a nearby café.

When reporters approached Rebecca to ask why she was rarely seen in public over the last year, she replied, “I did not disappear, but the company originally arranged me to film a variety show in China. It was delayed because of the pandemic, and I was unable to be scheduled for other work. Now that I have free time, I want to take some [acting] courses.”

When asked if she will be filming Rosy Business 4 in August, Rebecca replied, “I really don’t know yet. It’s good if it’s true. During a pandemic, it’s important to have work. If I have new details, I will share them.”
