Zheng Shuang to Receive Mental Counseling
Zheng Shuang’s (郑爽) image and career instantly crumbled ever since her surrogacy scandal with her ex-boyfriend Zhang Heng (張恒) was exposed in January. Five months later, the United States court has settled the custody rights in favor of Zhang Heng, while Zheng Shuang will still need to fulfill her responsibilities and obligations as a mother and attend mental counselling.
According to the custody agreement, the court concluded after a thorough collection of evidence that Zhang Heng has been the only primary caregiver for their two surrogate children in Colorado while Zhuang Sheng has only met them several times. She can only be counted as a casual acquaintance to the children.
Thus, it has been ruled that Zhang Heng is granted with “parenting solo decision-making authority.” He can make any decisions regarding the two children, including being able to apply for passports or government documents without Zheng Shuang’s consent or signature. Unless there are any major decisions in which he will need to inform Zheng Shuang within 72 hours, any day-to-day decisions also do not have to be consulted.
Need For Mental Counselling
To ensure that both sides uphold their parental responsibilities, a parenting schedule is also formulated which outlines when Zheng Shuang can see her children. She will have visitation rights three days a week for one and a half hours each time. There will also be a parenting supervisor present to help the her in developing child-rearing skills.
To extend her time with the children, Zheng Shuang will need to participate in a six month one-to-one psychological therapy course, where she will receive professional counseling on stabilizing her emotions and fostering her parenting skills.
Such mental counseling was decided as the court found truth to Zhang Heng’s allegations of Zheng Shuang’s mental health problems. Evidence was gathered that Zheng Shuang displayed disturbing behaviors after the children’s births.
Both parties will also need to complete a parenting course and submit relevant certificates to the court within 60 days of the effective date of judgement.
Additionally, the court expressed disappointment at the attitudes of both parties in failing to put their children’s interests before theirs. Their unhealthy relationship which has been brought to light by the media, has reflected their immaturity and negligence.

Surrogacy Clinic Reveals Zheng Shuang Refused to Pay for Babies
Zheng Shuang Leaves Behind 2 Surrogate Children in the United States
I cannot imagine she will stay in US for 6 month to complete the One to One therapy….Gosh, I feel so sorry for the therapist who has to work with her.
I feel even her parents need to attend such therapy too.
I personally cannot imagine she will stay so long in US….unless she wants to run away from her debts and troubles in China.
@hohliu
I agree and bet she will give up in a few days. It feels like she is being forced to spend time with the kids which is not a good thing for her or the kids as she did not want them in the first place. I also feel bad for the therapist/counselor who will work with her. They are trying to tame a mad woman.
@hetieshou
I doubt she considers the kids her anyway. Just products that she purchased. Probably even more so now that her career has been ruined…
@jimmyszeto
Exactly and the kids are like an order of an item she wanted to cancel and return but sadly could not. It is sad that people who deserve to be parents can’t have kids but people who don’t deserve it get kids and want to discard them.
@hetieshou I was really shock when I read how she tried to cancel her order… And wanted the surrogate carriers to abort the babies. Goodness, her behaviour was really evil and selfish is too mild a word to describe her.
@hohliu
Me too and still cannot believe anyone can be this evil. Her parents are just as bad… Karma is biting her and will bite her even more later.
@hetieshou I hope her parents & her really get their just punishments for their greed and heartlessness.
@hohliu
I agree and if karma works, they definitely will. They will become old and lonely. They may become poor and penniless too. They will not have any kids to take care of them or do anything for them.
Have no idea who she is, or who the father is, but those poor children. I feel bad for them that both the parents seem like crappy people. At least the father has some sense of responsibility, since he’s still raising them. But he seems selfish too, putting his kids through this dispute.
I feel bad for the kids, they’re basically anchor babies…
@exodus
That is not the sad part as many of those wealthy make their kids anchor babies on purpose. But it is the fact that their mom did not want them and they had to go through all this. I feel bad for them.
@hetieshou So very true, and who knows probably though @hohliu.
@exodus Do you think Zheng Shuang was trying to get US Green card thru the babies? Is that possible in US?
@hohliu
Honestly, I am not sure… but that can be one of the reasons. However, her life was good before this mess she created so there was no point in her wanting to come to the US.
@hetieshou If they are allowed dual citizenship in China. Then get a Amercian citizenship must be the next best choice for them. But I am based in UK so I dont know the Immigration laws in US / China..
@hohliu
From what I know, China does not allow dual citizenship. She would have to pick one over the other. I think the US does if I remember correctly but not China. Does the UK allow it?
@hetieshou Yes, UK allow dual citizenship. In fact UK does practise good standard of Human Rights laws…which I am glad for. It is just some individuals that cuases problems.
