Bernice Liu Re-invents Herself as Action Star by Learning Wing Chun
Wearing a low-cut red dress at a McDull & Friends promotional event, Bernice Liu Bik Yee revealed her curveaous figure. She just came back from press conferences held for Ip Man- The Prequel <葉問前傳> in Shanghai and Malaysia.
Learning Wing Chun martial arts for the last six months, Bernice’s figure became slimmer and her cup size also decreased as well. Bernice indicated that she did not know how much her chest decreased in size. Many people thought that Wing Chun was designed for women, but the basic stances and training still required a great deal of strength and exertion.
In the next few months, Bernice will be filming TVB series, Home Army <居家兵團> with Kevin Cheng Ka Wing and Liza Wang Ming Chuen. In Home Army, Bernice will play a maternal role to a two-year-old boy. She will have to practice her dialogue with the child actor.
Reporters teased Bernice and asked her when she will become a mother in real life. “I would love to become a mother. When I was five years-old, I already decided I wanted to become a mother of seven children. At the time, my mother bought seven dolls for me to play with!”

Jayne: Bernice learned Wing Chun to transform herself into an action star. Based on her dance background, she hoped to learn martial arts and focus on filming movies. With credits such as The King of Fighters and Ip Man- The Prequel, Bernice may be a rising action star to watch out for.
Does action films require less acting abilities? I like Bernice, who has sunshine smile and twinkling eyes but must admit, she is an awful actress. I don’t see how she can reinvent herself as some martial artiste actress but maybe going the way of Maggie Q, who knows. Why not invest in some acting lessons instead?
I do not see her as a rising star in action or any genre at all in any medium.
I think Bernice has been trying to go the action star route for quite some time already. Before ‘Ip Man- The Prequel’, she was in ‘The King of Fighters’ and ‘Bad Blood’. Both are action movies and she played a fighter girl in both movies.
Well, she can go the Maggie Q route, like Funn said.
Btw, the actress I really want to see doing Wing Chun onscreen is Vivi Li (she played Kenneth’s sister in ‘The Four’). She’s a Wing Chun student in real life. TVB shouldn’t waste her skill. Cast her in some kungfu series.
I also don’t think that Bernice is that great of an actress. She is average at best in her acting skills, but not that good so I don’t think she will be able to become a martial artist actress either. But then again, in the circle connections, timing and luck play a factor as well and not just talent so you never know what can happen in the future.
