Jun Ji Hyun Denies Marital Discord
Is Jun Ji Hyun‘s nine-year marriage on the rocks? Recent rumors swirled that the 39-year-old Korean actress and her non-celebrity husband are in the midst of a divorce following his alleged cheating.
Marrying Choi Joon Hyuk, a banker and grandson of famed hanbok designer, Lee Young Hee, the couple has two sons born in 2016 and 2018 respectively. Media outlets reported that the couple has separated since December 2020.
Despite the split, Jun Ji Hyun reportedly does not want to follow through with divorce, as she is afraid that it would affect her image and advertising and endorsement jobs. With dozens of advertisement and endorsement jobs, Jun Ji Hyun makes more than three times from these fees than the amount of her contractual payments.
The My Sassy Girl actress denied the rumors and her company expressed, “The rumors that have been circulating are groundless and nonsensical. Our company will take legal measures against all acts of spreading false information.”
The media also contacted and interviewed friends of Jun Ji Hyun, who proclaimed that the husband and wife duo have always maintained a good relationship. Another friend felt pity for the actress, as the rumors have become relentless and caused strain for her family. One friend expressed, “It is not the truth at all. She was chatting happily with me. She definitely did not come off as someone who was worried or suffering from family issues.”
