Tony Hung Produces His First Drama
Excited and nervous to produce his very first drama, Tony Hung (洪永城) has been arriving early every day on the set of The Haunted House Cleaner <凶宅清潔師> to ensure everything is going smoothly. The drama is a joint production by Tony’s new company and TVB.
Earlier this year, Tony formed Lock entertainment company with C-Kwan (C君) and Ossan’s Love <大叔的愛> producer and screenwriter, Tommy Loz (盧思麟). The trio drafted the idea for The Haunted House Cleaner and secured TVB’s financial backing after pitching it to Eric Tsang (曾志偉). The creative direction remains in the hands of Lock, with the trio as joint producers, and Tommy and C-Kwan as the screenwriters.
The 13-episode revolves around a trio of spirit cleaners, Tony, Li Shing Cheong (李成昌), and Fred Cheung (鄭俊弘) who agree to clean up a haunted house. Unearthing hidden secrets from a decade ago, they come closer to the truth behind the deaths of a family which were linked to ghosts. Due to its supernatural content, The Haunted House Cleaners is drumming up buzz and highly regarded by TVB after the success of Barrack O’Karma <今宵大廈>.
Filming for The Haunted House Cleaners started in May. As there are numerous fight scenes involved, actor/ martial arts trainer Ken Law (羅浩銘) assisted the cast on set. Ken praised Tony for handling the fight scenes very well, “Tony gets beaten up a lot in the series– he’s very willing to try difficult and dangerous moves. With suspension wires, you can still easily get hurt if you’re falling from a really high place. Even for those scenes, he is willing to do them without a stuntman. Besides Tony, Kelly Fu (傅嘉莉) has to fight as well. She took a few martial arts lessons from me in the past – she’s super smart and learns very quickly.”
Adding to her stress, Kelly felt overwhelmed because of her father’s health conditions. The actress lost weight and had an eczema outbreak, but insists she does not need to take a break and can handle her workload.
