Hubert Wu Hopes for “Hello Misfortune” Sequel
Hubert Wu’s (胡鴻鈞) youth drama, Hello Misfortune <愛上我的衰神>, aired to good feedback. Ten episodes aired quickly and will reveal its finale this week, but Hubert hopes there will be a second season.
“I’m very happy that the response and reviews to the drama have been good. The producer is the same as The Exorcist’s Meter <降魔的> and [I’m grateful for his casting]. I didn’t even need to look at the script, before I promised him that I would take on the role,” he said.
As the finale will have an open ending, Hubert hopes there will be a sequel for the drama. He has not yet received notice of his next drama, and will be focusing on his music career and filming a new movie.
For the upcoming Yan Chai Charity Show <慈善星輝仁濟夜>, Hubert will perform and sing his song Thank You For Your Support <謝謝你的應援>. As long as there is no work conflict, Hubert tries join two to three charity fundraising shows every year. “When I was younger, I really wanted to see my name appear on the TV screen as one of the donors, so I gave $500 Hong Kong dollars. Sadly, my name didn’t show up!”

Nooo! I don’t want an open ending! Sigh. I’m already 8 episodes in and it’s too late to quit now 🙁
Same producer as Exorcist’s Meter explains the dark turn of the series. It’s just tragic but then the psychopath artist is doing one hell of a job
Ahh that explains why I like the drama. It definitely has a similar vibe to The Exorcist’s Meter. There’s heart, a fresh cast, familial drama and fantasy elements. It does get darker, but that’s kind of refreshing…you just don’t expect it. I dislike open endings, such a copout (unless they’re planning on a sequel), but I hope there’s more to the background of everyone else’s story
I take back what I wrote. For once, an open ending actually makes sense! This has to be the most satisfying end to a story arc that I’ve seen from TVB for the longest time. It can definitely be a standalone on its own. Really good drama!
