Michelle Reis Sent to ICU for 48 Hours

On January 15, retired actress Michelle Reis shared that she was admitted to ICU for 48 hours and narrowly escaped death.

Revealing the news via her social media page, Michelle posted a picture of herself hooked to tubes as she lay on an ICU bed. Michelle did not provide details of her illness, but wrote that she was thankful to “hold onto her life.”

Michelle later spoke with the media and revealed that her health issues began early Tuesday morning when she felt her heart started racing, had difficulties breathing and was losing her balance. Knowing something wasn’t right, Michelle quickly contacted her doctor and was immediately sent to the ICU, “My doctor later told me, ‘If I delayed the treatment any longer, the world would be missing Michelle Reis.’”

After spending 48 hours in the ICU, Michelle was finally discharged from the hospital and returned home to rest. Turning serious to talk about her ordeal, Michelle said, “The human body is like this. One organ affects another organ. This time the blood pressure dropped sharply so the liver, kidney, heart, lungs and other important organs were also affected.”

Michelle thanked everyone for their concern and advised everyone to look after themselves “I want to remind everyone that we must take care of our bodies. There is nothing more important than your health. Being alive is a victory. When you encounter anything, you must remain positive. I wish everyone good health.”
