Roger Kwok and Alice Chan Star in Ambitious Drama About Hong Kong Handover
Roger Kwok (郭俊安) and Alice Chan (陳煒) will be headlining new TVB drama, Return <回歸>. The nostalgic drama will cover a span of the 25 years since the 1997 Hong Kong Handover, when England transferred sovereignty over Hong Kong to China.
Regarding the drama’s storyline, Alice expressed, “In the past 25 years since the Handover, Hong Kong has experienced a lot of different things, such as SARS and the Asian financial crisis. We banded together to face these issues. Since the drama focuses on this period of time, it will give the audience a lot to reminisce over.”
Since joining TVB, Alice has done a spectacular job portraying all of her characters. Her skills and talent as a versatile actress is undeniable. It is speculated that this high-profile drama is intended to propel Alice’s popularity to enhance her chances for TV Queen this year. To this, Alice laughed and responded, “Actually, I have joined TVB for 10 years now. I am thankful to the producer, and am so fortunate to be teamed up with a good partner like Roger. I will work hard!”
Portraying a restaurant owner in the series, Roger said, “I really enjoy portraying down to earth characters. I feel that they are very believable and come from real life. However, this character is quite hard to portray. I can’t overdo it, but also cannot underdo it. I have to get a good grasp on him, which means I have to do a lot of prep work.”
The 15-episode drama also stars Ricco Ng (吳偉豪) and Kalok Chow (周嘉洛) as brothers after Roger and Alice’s divorce.

Oh! I do want to watch this. I love Alice as an actress. My dad is in the restaurant business and that industry has suffered so much during SARS and the recent COVID outbreaks. I hope the script will be good. And nice to see that Roger is looking more natural now.
