Xiao Zhan and Ren Min’s “The Longest Promise” Trailer Gets 430 Million Views
With his explosive popularity, each of Sean Xiao Zhan’s (肖戰) dramas generates immense buzz. Expected to premiere later this year, The Longest Promise <玉骨遙> demonstrated its high commercial value with trailer views already exceeding 430 million.
The Longest Promise is adapted from the novel, Zhu Yan <朱颜>, written by author Cang Yue (沧月). It tells a forbidden love story unfolding between the princess of Chi Yi Tribe, Zhu Yan (Ren Min 任敏) and royal prince Shi Ying (Xiao Zhan) in Kong Sang Continent. At a young age, Shi Ying was given the prophecy that he will die at the hands of the first woman who crosses into the Valley of the King. Perceived as a weakness unacceptable by the king, Shi Ying was sent to Jiuyi Mountains for training. As destined, he meets Zhu Yan and becomes her master. Over time, they develop romantic feelings for each other, but neither dares to confess outright.
There are 1.8 million people who have reserved the series in their to-watch list, and the majority are surprised to see that the series only has 40 episodes. Official announcements have yet to confirm whether The Longest Promise will be released in a full 40 episodes or a two-part 20 episode each format. While some are glad as it suggests the story would not be draggy, others are feeling disappointed and even cried out that “it’s too short!”
Despite the trailer being released a year ago, fans have been rewatching it countless times as they wait for its official release. With the recent spotlight on its remarkable trailer views, fans commented, “Xiao Zhan’s costume looks so beautiful–it is almost suffocating. He is so handsome in every way!”

I think this trailer has been out almost a year now. On MDL, it said the episode count was 50. I wonder if they were inaccurate before. I prefer a tighter story of 40.
I am wary of another teacher disciple relationship. It’s usually not my cup of tea. I may still check it out. It has a great supporting cast and Ren Min has positive acting reviews in other series.

I really like Ren Min, she is a good actress…huge potential and is a level headed girl..saw her in a number of varieties. She is definitely a very focus young actress..
