Raymond Lam in “Call Me By Fire 2”

The first season of Call Me By Fire <披荆斩棘的哥哥>, a Chinese music reality television show featuring male celebrities competing to form a 17-member group, aired to positive reception last year. Recently, an alleged list of season 2’s competitors was leaked online.

The stars reportedly include: Jay Chou (周杰倫), Nicholas Tse (謝霆鋒), Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明), Kenny Kwan (關智斌), Hawick Lau (劉愷威), Raymond Lam (林峯), Ron Ng (吳卓羲), and Bosco Wong (黃宗澤).

Although the likelihood of Jay, Huang Xiaoming, and Nicholas being on the show is slim, there is a possibility that Raymond, Ron, and Bosco may participate in season 2 of the show. Many Hong Kong celebrities have been actively participating in Chinese reality television shows. Stars such as Jordan Chan (陳小春), Chilam Cheung (張智霖), and Michael Tse (謝天華) have expanded their fame with successful reality show appearances.

Viewers are excited for the possibility of an on-screen reunion for Raymond, Ron, and Bosco in Call Me By Fire 2, as they were the most highly promoted actors at TVB in the 2000s. They had formed close relationships due to their numerous dramas, such as Twin of Brothers <大唐雙龍傳>, The Four <少年四大名捕>, and Triumph in the Skies <衝上雲霄>.

Unfortunately, later speculations alleged that the trio may not all be starring on the show due to schedule conflicts. Ron supposedly is due to begin filming for a new drama this month, and Bosco also has conflicting work obligations, so they may only guest star. Raymond is the only one with a flexible schedule who may be starring on the show.
