Kim Ji Won Ends Contract with Talent Agency
Currently starring in South Korean drama My Liberation Diary, actress Kim Ji Won has not renewed her contract with talent agency Salt Entertainment.
The actress’ agency confirmed in a statement that their exclusive contract has expired and will continue to wish each other well in their respective endeavors.
Kim Ji Won has been with the agency since 2020 but has only filmed 2 dramas including My Liberation Notes and Lovestruck in the City. However, prior to that, Kim Ji Won was signed with talent agency King Kong and starred in a dozen prominent projects including Descendants of the Sun, Arthdal Chronicles and Fight for My Way.
Many netizens suspect Kim Ji Won’s decision is due to the agency’s lackluster handling of fellow artist Kim Seon Ho’s abortion scandal last year. As many netizens criticized the agency for not doing enough, a conspiracy emerged suggesting that the agency created bad press to force Kim Seon Ho to accept a new contract.
Although Kim Seon Ho’s scandal was eventually resolved, many netizens do not trust Salt Entertainment and encourage the agency’s artistes to “run away.” Now that Kim Ji Won has confirmed that she is leaving, many netizens are glad for the actress and wish her all the best in her career.
